Hello! We are booked for 7 nights at a condo through the army vacation rentals but we need a total of 8 nights and cannot get the condo for the extra night. So, for that extra night, i am debating if we should stay on site. If we do, would we get 2 days of free parking in the parks as well as 2 days of extra magic hours for a one night stay at a value resort?

My other debate is that the POP Century is going for $129 a night and the Dolphin is $160 BUT i dont get free parking in the parks with the Dolphin BUT easy boat transportation to HS (SWW) so we wouldnt really use the car.......

Thanks for your help!:goodvibes

Unless I'm mistaken, you DO get free parking at the parks when you stay at the Swan/Dolphin.

Its no longer the case :(
I checked the website and then called the hotel directly and parking is no longer free at the themeparks.

If you are buying tickets for your 7 day condo stay you should add on the two additional days to that purchase. The more days you buy tickets for the cheaper the tickets package is, that is my understanding. My family is spending our last night at a hotel that is in the Orlando Airport (I don't think I can say the name but you can check it out if interested).

Sounds like you are staying at Shades of Green, correct? I am also assuming that you have already purchased your park tickets as it is much more costly to purchase just a one or two day ticket. A one day ticket gets you into the parks for only that day. I am thinking that you might want to consider a hotel at Downtown Disney. Most of them have scheduled shuttles and if close enough, you might even be able to catch a Disney bus to the parks from their bus stop. Then you wouldn't need a car. The most cost effective hotel is going to be offsite or a value resort. However, the value resorts are small.

The answer is yes, if you are staying onsite then you get the extra magic hours. You will need a Key to the World card which the hotel will set you up with when you check in.

I can't answer about the free parking since we always fly in and use the on site transportation that Disney provides. But I would imagine that as long as you have proof of being checked into the resort you will be fine.

By the way, the hotels will hold your luggage until check in time so you can go play at the parks and so that you don't have to risk your belongings in your car.

Hello again,

Thanks for all the great answers! My last question is, since i'm only staying on site for ONE night, will i get TWO days of extra magic hours and TWO days of free parking at the parks? We are renting a car no matter what since our condo is is Kissimmee. Its not Shades of green since my hubby is in the Canadian Military. We have access to cheap Wyndham vacation rentals though :goodvibes
thanks

Yes, you will get the day you check in and the day you check out of free parking and of EMH. They will give you a sheet for parking at check-in - you just put it in your car window; at EMH,just show your room key, morning or night. You can leave all your luggage with bell services; did it myself at CR when we checked in at 7:30 a.m. for EMH at MK.

You could always look into renting points through a DVC member or from David's Vacation Rentals - sometimes, those deluxe studios are cheaper than a value resort. You might be able to get BLT for less than Pop and WALK to the park! You might be able to get BCV or BWV too, and walk to HS or Epcot. I'd recommend trying that out to see; the points tables are on the left of the screen under "Start Here".

ZehnJahren : thanks! I thought renting DVC point would be way more expensive!!!! There was the AK Lodge for $169!!!! But, for this time, i will still go with the Dolphin since waking to HS will be nice for the SW Weekends!!!! And I received a $25 off from Expedia so i'm under $150! But i will definetly consider renting points for future stays! Thanks for the tip!!!! Much appreciated!!! :thumbsup2
