We are staying at the Poly for just one night before a 4 day cruise (and returning to WDW for a few days after the cruise). If we don't want to go to Ohana's, where should we go for dinner? We won't have park tickets for that day. Suggestions? Details?

Try Kona Cafe at the Poly. The best non signature restaurant on property IMHO.

You could do the wave at the contempory... 1900 parkfare at grand floridian or Citricos at Grand floridian (big bucks there though). :goodvibes

Or hop the monorail to either the GF or CR & the multitude of restarant choices at those 2 resorts. :goodvibes

Narcoossee's at GF would be my choice. Good food, great view of Mk and if you time it right, Wishes.

I agree Kona is excellent but the atmosphere isn't all that great. What kind of meal are you looking for? More upscale? Or Disney-esque? Or....? What kinds of food do you like?

Applesister1 - My girls will be 11 and 13, and we all love Disney, but we don't need a character experience and would also be happy with something a little more upscale with interesting food or just good food. My plan for the night at the Poly is to be able to watch Wishes from the beach, so we don't want to stray too far. Taking the monorail to another MK resort would be fine, though. I asked the girls about Ohana and they weren't thrilled, but the last time we were there was about 5-6 years ago so probably they don't remember it all that well. I liked it, and it would certainly be convenient and allow us to just hang out and enjoy the Poly for our one night.

or boat over to wilderness lodge. whispering canyon is fun (and loud) and the food is decent

I agree that Kona was a huge, delightful surprise! It seems to be a little hidden GEM! The food was wonderful, we ate there 3 times on our last trip!

Another vote for Kona. They have wonderful food! We always go there at least once (maybe more) each trip.
