"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

Hi Jen! Sorry I haven't been commenting lately. Just got back from the craziness of real-life and now I'm on vacation :lovestruc So nice, love vacation, even when it ISN'T at Disney, though that's the best kind, right? Of course, right. (ten points for the reference) Alright, moving on... I'm all caught up on the TR! It still amazes me how this is only the halfway point you're at. Someday... I WILL be taking a 2 week long trip, they sound like tons of fun. And the HCR sounds so cool! I tried to look up videos of it and they just don't show enough. I just thought it's a nice carriage ride but everything looks so much cooler, one day I will definitely have to try it :) And I'm going to hop over to your new PTR to leave my thoughts, too bad I couldn't have taken that sweet 16 trip I wanted and I would've been down at the same time (May 9th is my birthday). Ok, I think I'm going on a bit, so for now... can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Sounds like a great carriage ride...glad you enjoyed it despite the "little scare"

Haha, don't worry about it! I sometimes wish my life was so busy that I didn't have time to DIS...not that I want to be away from the DIS, it's just sometimes I wonder if my life is too boring or something!

Anyway, I hope you get to do a long trip someday, it's awesome! Although Brandon doesn't like it very much!

Awww, that's too bad you're not taking your sweet 16 trip, I didn't know May 9 is your birthday! :woohoo: Well, don't worry, you will get back to Disney sooner or later! :goodvibes

Whew... I just caught up. On the whole.trip.report. I need a nap now, but I'm here! :lmao:

Yay, wow, I can't believe you read the whole TR in one sitting! :worship: I hope you at least liked it! Glad to have you here! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to do a carriage ride! Sounds so fun!

It's SO much fun! I would love to do a carriage ride again! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great carriage ride...glad you enjoyed it despite the "little scare"

It was so much fun! The Headless Horseman was a little scary, but in a fun way, of course!

I Finally Have an Annual Pass!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, 10/5

Hi everyone! Welcome to Day 7 of our trip! Before I start, I should let you know this entire day was spent at Epcot! So the next few updates will be all about my beloved Epcot! :lovestruc

(Oh yes...a lot of the pictures in the beginning of the day are blurry looking, because there was a giant smudge on the lens that I didn't notice until after taking tons of pictures! :sad2:)

I was up at about 7:30, ready to start the day and get to Epcot! I like to have one day in each trip entirely for Epcot, and today was the day, so I was super excited! I went out on the balcony to check out the weather and the view and it was beautiful, like each day before!

Look at that sky!!! Could it be any prettier!

Eventually, Brandon woke up and we were on our way to Epcot, we actually got there right at 9 when it was opening!

However, before we went in, there was a little matter I had to take care of...since we were planning to go back in May, I figured we should upgrade our MYW tickets to AP's. Brandon wasn't thrilled about the idea, but I convinced him that it would save us money, so he gave in. So I went over to Guest Services and did the upgrade and became an Annual Pass holder!

P1000775.jpg

Isn't it beautiful?

AND...the CM had no idea what she was doing, so instead of making our AP's valid until the first day of their use, which I think was September 30th? Or the 29th? She made them valid until October 5th, 2012 the day I upgraded! She basically gave us a bonus week by mistake! So if I want to take a little F&W solo trip the first week of October, I'll still have that AP to use! :thumbsup2

After we upgraded, you'll never guess where we went?

P1000767.jpg

Yep-Soarin'! We grabbed some FP's for later, and then got right into the standby line, which was only 15 minutes! Poor Brandon was starving at this point and just wanted to eat breakfast, but I kind of made him go on Soarin'! :upsidedow

Finally though, after Soarin', we had breakfast at Sunshine Seasons. It was our first time there, and we loved it, now I want to go back each time we are at Epcot in the morning!

P1000768.jpg

Brandon had the panini and I had the danish, and it was SO good! Ever since I had that danish, I look for them at home, but they never look as good as Disney danishes, so I never buy one. I can't wait to have one in 65 days!

Once we finished eating, since we were already in the Land, we decided to do Living with the Land! It's such a nice, relaxing ride! Agriculture and farming isn't really a huge interest of mine, but at Disney manages to make it fun for a few minutes!

P1000773.jpg

Oh look, Nikki, your Nine Pound Lemon! Do you think they will ever be able to make a 10 pound lemon?

P1000774.jpg

We finished up at the Land and made our way over to the World Showcase. We walked around China for a little while, where I actually would have had some pretty pictures, but that stupid smudge on my lens made them look awful!

P1000778.jpg

I like the China pavilion, it's really beautiful and colorful, but I never know what to do there, so we never spend a lot of time there! I want to see the movie someday, but I never know when it's actually happening, it's always so empty in there!

We continued walking, and Brandon stopped at the African Outpost for a few minutes to look around. We noticed these cute walking sticks that were shaped like giraffes, so I made him pose like a dork with one of them:

P1000785.jpg

We kept walking and we saw the Fife and Drum guys in America! Brandon liked them the last time we were in Epcot, and I think they're kind of interesting, so we stopped and watched for a while! Unfortunately, we only caught the last few minutes, but still, it was fun!

When they were finished fifing and drumming, we grabbed a beer from the American Food and Wine booth (I can't remember the official name of it, it's not in my notes!). I love that I can get Sam Adams Cherry Wheat during the Food and Wine festival, it's the best beer ever!

*Ughhh!!! I just went to proofread this update, and something happened and it erased the last 1/4 of my update! I'm way too tired to redo it now, so this will have to be my update for now! My computer is being SO weird lately, I need a new mouse! I apologize if this is a weird place to leave off!*

Up next...World Showcase, lunch, and MORE Epcot!!!

The Wilderness Lodge sure provides some amazing views, doesn't it? That's so beautiful!

YAY FOR THE ANNUAL PASS!!!!! OH that is so exciting. I seriously want me an AP. You should do a solo trip for F&W! Might as well give that AP some extra use!

SOARIN' YAY. Hahah glad yall liked your breakfast at Sunshine Seasons! And I'm sorry your computer messed up the rest of your update! :( But I guess yay for even more future Epcot updates! :thumbsup2

Great update, Jen. You do love your Epcot!

Hooray for the AP. I'm hoping to get one in September when we go.

Yay for getting an annual pass!!!!:banana::banana: (And an extra week!! :thumbsup2)

I love Epcot days! Your breakfast at SS sounds great, I've actually never eaten there, but I know people rave about it!

Just started reading your trip report. Sounds like fun! Can't wait to read more.

Score on the extra week! :cool1:

The view from your room is beautiful!

What a gorgeous day to be touring the world showcase! And I really don't notice the smudge on your pictures. In fact, your pictures make me want to be there right now!

You have been an updating fool lately Jen - You go! :worship:

Ooooo...that breakfast at Sunshine Seasons looks pretty yummy! Now we have another alternative for breakfast food that I think we'll have to try next week!! :)

We always end up spending one day solely in EPCOT too!!! There is just so much to do there one full day isn't enough, but it helps :D

WOOHOO for APs :) and yay for being able to use them if you want to take a trip in the fall :)

I LOVE the cherry wheat beer! It's one of my favorties :D

That's AWESOME you got an extra week on your AP!! Hopefully you can make it out for at least a little F&W!! Maybe... Brandon will get a hankering for something he tried at the F&W festival and decide it would be a good idea to go!!!!

Great update! The picture with the walking stick.....:rotfl2:

We've yet to catch the American Fife and Drum corp...kind of bummed, but kind of feel like we see the same thing in Williamsburg all the time.:confused3

Looking forward to more, congrats on the APs!

YAY EPCOT! What a great park to spend a whole day at. Personally, Magic Kingdom is my full day park, but EPCOT is just as awesome and generally does need a full day :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 to upgrading to APs! I really hope to do that someday. And it's weird, because I always thought that was how APs worked, when you upgrade them, they last for a whole year from the exact day you upgrade them :confused3 I'm not sure since I've never looked into it much, but that's what I hear from most, but if it wasn't then that's awesome you got the extra week. :)

WOOT SOARIN'! Always a great first ride at EPCOT and I can't believe the standby was only 15 MINUTES! I've never seen that. Like I've been in line when it was at 20, but 15... WOW! Mmmm... Sunshine Seasons sounds very good and I can see what you mean about that danish, it does look a lot prettier than the average danish and from what you say, it tastes as good as it looks. Yum! :thumbsup2 to riding Living With The Land, such an underrated ride :sad2:

Love your pictures of World Showcase even with the smudge! It's beauty ALWAYS shines through :cloud9: Those Fife and Drum guys look wicked entertaining, I can't believe I've missed them whenever I go to EPCOT. I have really bad timing with this stuff :/

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

After all the rain in your December TR, it's so nice to see that beautiful blue sky again!

When I saw that pic of you at Soarin' I was positive that I could almost smell the Epcot air! And thanks for inadvertently reminding me that I need to replace my Crocs before our July trip :thumbsup2 (When I saw you wearing them in this pic I was like "I KNEW I liked her!" :rotfl2: )

That pic of Brandon is hilarious! I can't believe he allows you to subject him to Disboards ridicule

And your pics came out great! If you didn't TELL me there was a smudge, I wouldn't have noticed...looks like sun glare to me! lol

Yay for annual passes! It's such a nice thought...knowing you can enter WDW as many times as you want (or is possible). :wizard:

Looks like a great start to your Epcot day. Beginning with Soarin' is the perfect choice. :thumbsup2
