"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

WOW at being at Disney World in 6 days time!!! I am SO jealous!! :lmao:

Oh no on not doing MVMCP though I can understand your reasoning behind the decision.

Yay on adding the sleigh ride and taking in the festiveness of the resorts! :cool1:

Congrats on securing Cape May Cafe and I love that you are going to go with the flow during the day. Can't wait to hear what you actually end up doing!

I'm still here and totally relate to the "slow" updates. I'm only on the morning of Day 2 after two months writing! I also used to be much faster, but slowed down on the last two trips, so I know what you mean about feeling like you're losing readers. I think a lot of people are still around, but just lurking, though. I, personally, like the slower-paced TRs, because I have trouble keeping up with reading/commenting on the fast-paced ones.

Anyway, sounds like a nice finish to the 40th anniversary day. Very cool that you got special maps. We also experienced Cosmic Rays and the Magic, Memories, and You show for the first time on this past trip and, like you, really were impressed with both. That's really a bummer that they didn't add a more noticeable addition to Wishes for the 40th. I'm really hoping that the 50th anniversary has more special stuff...I've already decided that we will be spending our 16th anniversary at Disney (we share the October 1st date w/WDW, but 34 years later). Also, awesome that you got to ride BTMRR at night. That's one of my favorites to do in the dark. You get to see the little saloon all lit up and stuff. Very different experience than during the day. So nice of you guys to get that guy's camera bag and all to lost and found. I hope he got it back quickly!

Plans are looking good for your upcoming trip. We did the sleigh ride at FW last year and it was really cool. Literally. Hopefully it will be a more moderate temp when you guys go, but they do provide a nice blanket. It's insane to see how all-out some campers go with their decorating. Just...wow! Also, I definitely recommend the Epcot resorts for the decorations. Especially the Beach and Yacht Clubs...very cool displays!

Your Cosmic Rays dinner looks so good! I wish we had of been able to try it on the honeymoon. It is definitely on my MK CS list. I would have thought that they would have done more for the 40th anniversary fireworks, too. :confused3

I can't believe you trip is only 6 days away! So exciting! :woohoo: I think you made the right choice about the party. As fun as I'm sure it is, if you've done it two years in a row I think you can feel ok about skipping it this year.

I'm in! Just found your trip report and love your delightful writing style. I just don't have the nerve to do trip reports because I know that I won't finish them! We bought annual passes for the first time last year and tore them up...felt like we needed to get our pound of flesh and ended up going 7 times in a year's time! We reupped and will do 3-4 trips this year, so I get my fix by reading trip reports like yours!!! Thanks for putting in the time...

Have a wonderful trip!! The sleigh ride looks like it'll be really fun! So jealous you get to work a bit of Disney into your holiday season!!

OMG, less than a week!!!

I'm so excited for you! Congrats on getting CMC reservations! I lovedddd dinner there as well.

I understand what you mean about not doing MVMCP...definitely next year :thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear about your Sleigh Ride through FW! That sounds so cool and romantic too!

:thumbsup2 Love the plans so far...always nice to just have time to go with the flow! I'm still here and lurking and reading...and trying to get my own June 2011 Trip Report COMPLETE as I do my PTR updates for March and November of next year! :lmao:

I can completely understand skipping the MVMCP too. We did it one year (2007) and skipped it on our Dec. 2009 trip just because it was so expensive. I'm not sure what we'll do with our next November trip, but I'm thinking we just might do it again since it HAS been a while and I think my kids slept through a lot of the parade the first time around (since they were 7, 5 and 3 at the time) so we may have to splurge. :rotfl:

You will LOVE CP though...just a wonderful show! So glad that we got to see it in 2009!

Jen, are we on the same updating schedule???? :rotfl:

Your trip sounds like a blast! I love that picture of the sleigh ride! It makes me want to take one! :rolleyes1

:woohoo: Yeah for one week. I'm at 10 days and I know how you feel. Driving home from work in tons of traffic was killing me yesterday. And it didn't help the melissa (mickeysmyboy) was texting me pictures of her pool side drinks.

:rotfl: That was a little strange, us both updating and commenting on each other's TR's on Saturday morning!

Thanks! I can't wait for the sleigh ride, I think it's going to be so much fun! :thumbsup2

I honestly don't know how I'm going to make it through the week. 1 day of work down, 4 to go. I really have to ask if I can work a half day on Friday, there's no way I can do a full day!

Yay for only one week left!!! :cool1: I think the carriage ride sounds like so much fun, and you'll definitely be doing a lot of holiday things even without MVMCP! The Epcot resorts do have cute decorations, I won't give them away if you're looking to be surprised, but definitely check out the Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk - and the Swan and Dolphin too! They also put up pretty decorations :goodvibes

I'm so excited for the sleigh ride! I'm kind of sad about no MVMCP this year, but...not really! I love it, but I can skip it for a year! I think I'm definitely going to check out the Epcot resorts to see the decorations...I've seen a few pictures and they look amazing! :thumbsup2

How exciting just one week  I am SO jealous..though Im sure Ive said that earlier in your report :rotfl: I know you will miss the parade and fireworks, but how cool for the sleigh ride!! I hear the campgrounds usually are decorated and people get really into it..so that would be so cool to see :goodvibes

I am really eager to read about your whole next trip as well because its all things I have never done before (with the exception of Cape May)

I can't wait to see the campground, all decorated for Christmas! Some campsites were decorated for Halloween, which was fun, but I have a feeling that will be nothing compared to the Christmas decorations!

I'm excited for this trip because we're doing things that are new for me, like the Candlelight Processional! I love that there are always new things to do at Disney!

Will they be doing Holiday Wishes and/or the Christmas parade at all when you're there? I know on a couple of the trips we've taken after Christmas we've seen the parade and I thought they also did the holiday fireworks a couple times. But maybe they don't start that until later if they still do that.

No, unfortunately they don't start doing that until after we leave. We will be missing it by a few days. :sad2: It's ok though, just gives me a reason to hopefully go back next year! I really, really love going for Christmas! :cool1:

I'm still reading! I just have been really bad at commenting lately.

It's a bit disappointing that they didn't do more with the fireworks for the 40th. At least you weren't stuck in those crazy crowds and was able to enjoy some rides. I agree that BTM is awesome at night!

That poor guy! He must have had a panic attack when he found out his stuff was missing! That was very nice of you to bring it back. At least because he had some info in there they probably were able to trace him back.

Looks like you have a great trip planned! I think it's a nice idea to leave mornings/afternoons free, though I'm not sure I would be able to handle it. Hahaha

LOL that's ok, sometimes I'm bad at commenting too!

I really love BTM at night, it's so much fun! :thumbsup2

I'm so excited about this trip! I can't wait to wake up and not have to rush off somewhere, to just go wherever we want! That's totally new for us, usually every day is pretty planned out! :cool1:

WOW at being at Disney World in 6 days time!!! I am SO jealous!! :lmao:

I'm pretty ok with skipping MVMCP this year! I'd like to do it, but it's so expensive, it just doesn't really seem worth it for such a short trip. As long as I can see the castle, then I'm happy! :thumbsup2

I am so excited to go to Cape May again! Brandon actually confessed that it's his favorite Disney restaurant...I always thought it was Le Cellier, but I guess not!

I like slower paced TR's too, but I feel like if you get too slow, people forget about you! I'm trying to find something in the middle!

Wow I can't believe your anniversary is also MK's! That's so cool! I really would love to go for the 50th, I bet it is going to be SO insane that day! :scared1: BTM is so much fun in the dark!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the sleigh ride, it sounds like so much fun! I hope it's not too cold when we are there, right now the weather says it will be in the 70's the whole time, which would be perfect! :thumbsup2 I will definitely be checking out the Epcot resort decorations! :yay:

Cosmic Rays is so good! :thumbsup2 I can't believe it took us so long to go there, I highly recommend it!

I can't believe my trip is almost here either! I can't get too excited about it yet, because I still have to get through this whole week of work, which I already know is going to drag! :sad2: But once Friday gets here, I'm going to be freaking out! :rotfl:

I'm actually ok with skipping MVMCP! If I really get that upset about it, I'll just watch the parade on youtube or something!

Hi, :welcome: OMG thank you! I don't think I'm a good writer at all, I just try to spell things correctly and use proper grammar! Wow, 7 trips in one year, I'm so jealous! :worship: I know this AP is probably a once in a lifetime thing for me, so I hope to take advantage of it as much as possible!

Have a wonderful trip!! The sleigh ride looks like it'll be really fun! So jealous you get to work a bit of Disney into your holiday season!!

Thanks! I can't wait to go on the sleigh ride, it seems like it will be a lot of fun! I'm so glad we are actually doing this trip, I can't wait to see Disney all decorated for the holidays! :lovestruc

Your new plans sound great. I can't believe the trip is so close. :woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks! Neither can I...I wish this week would hurry up and be over already! :rotfl:

OMG, less than a week!!!

I can't wait to hear about your Sleigh Ride through FW! That sounds so cool and romantic too!

Thanks! I cannot wait to go to Cape May again, everything is so good there! :thumbsup2

The sleigh ride does seem like it could be romantic...it seems like a cute way to do a marriage proposal! :)

:thumbsup2 Love the plans so far...always nice to just have time to go with the flow! I'm still here and lurking and reading...and trying to get my own June 2011 Trip Report COMPLETE as I do my PTR updates for March and November of next year! :lmao:

OMG...I don't know how I didn't even realize you had a TR and PTR going! I'm so sorry, I will join asap! If your TR is almost finished, maybe I will just join the PTR to plan along with you! :cool1:

MVMCP is really expensive. I wouldn't care if we hadn't done it before, but since we have done it twice, it seems like kind of a waste of money for this trip. I will definitely do it again though, I'd just like to do it on a longer trip, preferably in November when the crowds are lower!

I can't wait to see the CP! :yay: It seems like it is going to be so beautiful!

Yes - Jen - you totally need a 1/2 day on Friday! Hope the rest of the week flies for you!

LOL I think you're right! I definitely will not get all my packing done if I work til 4 that day!

I'm so Rumbly in my Tumbly

Day 4, Sunday, October 2

I figured I should get in one last update before our trip on SATURDAY (:yay: :woohoo: :dance3:), and tonight is probably the last night I will have available! I cannot believe I'll be back in WDW in 4 days. Really. I mean, it doesn't even seem like it's actually happening. I don't think I'm really going to believe it until I'm on the plane. This might all just be happening in my mind still, where I have countless Disney trips planned. :rotfl:

Anyway! So Sunday, we were up early, around 7:30. We got dressed pretty fast and were out the door and down to the boat ramp, because I wanted to see rope drop at the Magic Kingdom. I know we saw it on our last trip, but I wanted to see it again, it's so cute!

It was a beautiful morning again, and the sun on the water looked amazing!

P1000438.jpg

We made it to MK in no time, and had time to find a good spot to see the rope drop show! Soon it was starting, and just like last year, I got a little teary...such a loser! :rotfl: There's something about hearing that song and seeing the characters come out and officially opening the Magic Kingdom. If only every day in life could start like that.

P1000448.jpg

Once the park was open, we went in and went straight to Crystal Palace, where we had a 9:15 ADR.

P1000450.jpg

We love this place, and even though we were going to skip it this trip, we just couldn't do it! Who can say no to a yummy breakfast and the Pooh characters?

We had a bit of a wait until we were seated so I took a few pictures:

P1000451.jpg

Ugh...that crane should not be allowed! :sad2:

P1000453.jpg

I love that Adventureland sign!

After waiting for a few minutes, we were seated, and the characters started coming around very quickly! We were first visited by Piglet:

P1000457.jpg

Then Pooh came around:

P1000460.jpg

P1000461.jpg

And finally, Tigger!

P1000462.jpg

P1000463.jpg

I'm not sure when we went up to the buffet, it seemed like all the characters came over at once, so it might have been after we saw those 3. We always get omelets and some other yummy buffet things. I did get some puffed french toast, but I was too full to eat it! I thought I took some pics of our food, but I guess not!

You will notice that we don't have pictures with Eeyore, but this time, it wasn't because he snubbed us, unlike the last 2 times we were at CP! He was coming around, but he takes a long time at each table, and we were already finished by that time. So we decided that since it would be our decision and NOT Eeyore's, we would leave without seeing him!

When we left, we wandered over to Liberty Square, one of my favorite places in the park. I love American history, so I really like this little historic area! The buildings are adorable!

P1000465.jpg

Don't you wish you could rent one of those??

P1000466.jpg

You probably can't tell, but that's the Connecticut flag!

Since we were in Liberty Square, Brandon wanted to do the Hall of Presidents, and I'm a little ashamed to say that I kind of acted like a brat at that point...:rolleyes1 I just did NOT want to do HoP right then...it was early, we just got finished eating, I just wanted to do something a little more lively, not sit in a dark theater! I gave in though, and went to see it, but I whined before the show started. :sad2: Not proud. I did snap out of it though, when I remembered that I really like HoP!

Once HoP was over, I had to go in the Christmas shop for a minute...there's not much that I love more than Disney ornaments! :lovestruc I didn't buy anything, because I figured I would just go crazy in the DTD Christmas store, which is twice as big as the MK store, but I loved looking around!

P1000464.jpg

How cute is that??

We were finally finished in Liberty Square and ready to do some classics...time to visit Fantasyland!

Up next...Fantasyland!

Crystal Palace sounds soooo yummy! I'm dying to eat there. Eating a nice big breakfast inside Magic Kingdom (after watching rope drop) sounds like such a lovely start to your day.

I agree with you, though, shows are meant for the heat of the day, when you're tired and want to escape the FL heat. Not when you're full and ready to ride MK rides!

Yay for an extra day at Disney! Will the injury be bothersome while touring the parks? I hope not!

I think that cranberry bog thingie was so cool! I wish I could've seen that in real life, but I do wonder, as you did, just how hot it is there in the sun for those guys!

So cute! Those stuffed moose heads are way cuter than those REAL moose heads hanging from the wall! I'm terrified of those!

You're right in saying that BTMRR does feel like a totally different ride at night! I think I'm going to make sure we hit it again at night to experience it that way. Splash is also different at night, I think. That drop just seems more ominous, haha.

WHOA, good thing you found that camera bag! I hate to think what would happen if someone dishonest had found all that stuff. That would've been a horrible vacation for those people!

I listen to the beginning of the Four Parks, One World CD in the morning as I change into my stinkin' work clothes, haha. It helps lift up my mood and really reminds me of that ONE time in YEARS that I finally got to see the welcome show (back in February).

ONLY A FEW MORE DAYS!

You haven't lost me as a reader, just as a poster! But now that I figured out that I can get around my difficulties with the DIS if I use Quick Reply, I can post more! As long as I don't need to quote anyone!

So awesome that you will be back in WDW so SOON!!!!!!

So.... that CM, do you think she liked the Phillies? :)

I think I will have to make Rope Drop sometime!! I've been to both MK and AK early in the morning but we were eating at the Rope Drop times!! I've also been to Disneyland multiple times for Rope Drop but they don't do a real opening show!

Enjoy your upcoming trip to WDW!

Crystal Palace sounds great! I can't wait for our breakfast there!

Hahahaha I probably would have been a little aggravated too about going to HoP first thing! Look at that beautiful sunshine! That's not a time to be in a theater!

I love CP!! I love the Winnie the Pooh characters and the breakfast is yummy :goodvibes Too bad you didnt get to say hello to Eeyore this time, but at least it was your decision :thumbsup2

I love that area by HoP too...it makes me miss back home (Massachusetts) when I see those little shops

I am still kicking myself for not making our CP ADR on our last trip... our experience at Ohana left a bit to be desired and I think we were done with characters by the last morning. This time, we're going to make up for that, though.... I hope.

Love Liberty Square as well, such a neat feeling to that little corner of MK. I wasn't thrilled to go to the HOP myself, but Mike enjoyed it so much, and I found out that I did too!:goodvibes
