One more SSR location question - Advice Needed!

I know there are several SSR threads, but I wasn't sure which one to pick and this is about my upcoming stay.

I know that requests are never guaranteed, but I have one on my reservation for CP/DTD view. The more I have read and the more I have looked at maps, GS area actually looks really appealing too! I'm wondering if I should change the request to GS area and just use the bus and ferry to go to DTD or walk DTD West. It seems like GS is a little closer to The Springs and i think I read it's the first bus stop too! If that is the case, it may help us out as we are traveling with a a little one and would have a better chance at a good seat on the bus.

The goal is for us to not use our vehicle at all and no one really has a problem with walking, but I'm just trying to decide which place is better for trying to get in the request. I do know that they assign the GVs a few days early per MS but we plan to get to the resort around 8am on check in day and head to the parks assuming that our villa won't be ready! Thanks for any help you can give me in deciding which area to try for. I'm not really interested in the other sections except Springs would be my third location choice, although I know I can end up in Paddocks or Carousel anyway!

Grandstand is the first stop on the bus line. However, Springs is closer to dining, main pool, etc. The walk from the Springs to Grandstand isn't very far, so if you have trouble getting a seat because it's full by the time it gets to Springs, then walk over to Grandstand and board there.

Honestly, you can't go wrong in either location. Also, two buildings in Grandstand are close to the pool and the other two are a bit away. If you look at the SSR map you'll see what I'm talking about.

I won't comment on Congress Park because I've never stayed in that location.

Thanks! I called and changed the request for Grandstand area after looking over the threads here, the maps and staring at Google Eatrh for about an hour ! I think I;m just so anxious to go and I eep checking different things to make sure I did this or that... So hopefully we can get GS area because I thin my family would just really like it there! I also wouldn't mind trying the 3 mile excursion around SSR/OKW/DTD as suggested by someone in another thread! Thanks for answering though! DVC boards seem slow today - everyone must be enjoying the weather or working!

You're welcome. I know you won't be disappointed in Grandstand. We stayed there last year and are heading back this May. But I think all of SSR is beautiful. Enjoy your GV!

Congress Park is the best section imo...

We have been in both (GS & CP) and loved both for different reasons. The walking path from CP is lovely if you are planning to go to DTD a few times.
The GS is perfect for not having a car and going to the parks due to the bus stop. It also has a fun alternative pool to the main one and is the newest area. You can't go wrong.
