After watching the video below, I was a bit confused...where exactly is the FP line for RSR? I thought it began somewhere near Carthay Theater? The crowds seem to walk by it and head straight for CL instead. Is there no FP line because it's still early entry? Does it start forming shortly before general park opening times/rope drop? :confused3 Thanks!

The fp line is right next to the main entrance of rsr. You get your fast passes right near the entrance as well.

Does that help?
I don't know what the video tells you to do?

The crowd in the video is going directly to the ride. You can see signs for the FP line off to the left just past where the crowd gets to the CM's who are waiting to walk them to Cars Land. That's where EE folks line up. Regular entrance guests are held back a bit further until rope drop.

I have heard reports of people spending their entire EE hour waiting to get FP's, but I don't think that's a wise use of time. No FP's are distributed until official park opening anyway.

???

They did install FP machines near the RSR entrance, they've never used them though, and anyone who has been in that area at park opening understands why. It gets crazy crowded just with people trying to get to the standby & single rider lines, I can't even imagine how nuts it would be if the line to get FP's was there as well.

The FP machines by It's Tough to be a Bug are being used for RSR FP distribution.

For regular park guests the line to get RSR FP's starts near Carthay Circle and goes all the way down the street past the Animation Bldg, to the Hyperion Theatre, and often even back to the Tower of Terror area. You can't miss it.

Ok, just so I get this straight... As DLR Hotel Guests we will have EE on Monday and Wed. So, the best thing to do is head straight for RSR, use the Wide Right strategy and forego lining up for FPs until shortly after riding RSR, but before before rope drop, right? :coffee:

The FP'S are at right before the entrance to It's tough to be a bug.
That's where it starts anyway ;)
We lined up for FP's on our first morning, at 7:30, they they actually open the gates at 7:30 but EMH get to go in at 7am.
We were at the far end of Carthay Circle restaurant! Near the Disney junior theatre and it took 30 mins to get a FP which was for 10:30 to 11:30
The next day my DH lined up again and DS and I waited for rope drop and walked straight to RSR while he waited, he ended up getting a FP after 20 minutes for 9:05-10:05 and DS and I rode RSR while he was getting FP's for it.
We rode Toy Story mania twice also while waiting for our RSR FP's.

If you have somebod to split with to get FP's and somebody else to wait to head straight to the ride that was the best thing we did.

So, in summary, they start letting people in at 7:30, but rope drop is at 8, so get there way early, the lines outside are longish.
