So, the time draws nigh. Is anyone else here planning to be in the Magic Kingdom on February 29? I think I'm going to go -- it might be a once in a lifetime opportunity. I won't be there for the full 24 hours, of course -- I'm only mostly crazy. Mostly crazy is partly sane!

Definitely want to be there for the sunrise(s), and some night time shooting. Beyond that, I'm not sure what I'll do.

So, who's with me?

I originally wanted to go at least at some crazy hour of the night just so say I was there at 4 AM or something like that. It is still in the back of my head to go over after midnight.

Just two of us? You wimps! ;)

C'mon — we could do some sort of meet-up or whatever it is the kids are calling it these days!

Go big or go home guys. 24 hours means 24 hours. ;)

LOL! Even if I were in the park, you'd find me passed out on the people mover by midnight.

I hope you guys going have an awesome time and come back to post some great new pics!

I'll be there definitely at rope drop on Feb 29th and then I'll stay awhile and go back to the room after lunch. Then I'll head back for wishes and not stop until I drop.

Does anyone want to meet up at Columbia Harbor House for lunch at 11:30 ish?

I'm in.

No wait. I don't get to go.

Who am I kidding. I'd sleep through it anyway! :rotfl:

I've been thinking about going on the 29th.

I won a round trip voucher for JetBlue that has blackout dates rendering it useless for family travel. I have a few days remaining on non-expiring park hoppers.

So, I've been thinking of flying to MCO from Boston the morning of the 29th, going to all four parks and then spending the night/morning at MK. I'd fly home on March 1.

I'd have to burn two vacation days to do this, though. And, as my wife notes, I'm not so into solo travel. So, as it stands right now, I'm on the fence.

The sheer lunacy of the project appeals to me for sure. The biggest drawback is the thought of trying to stay up all night on Disney "coffee".

I will be there....fly in on the 28th and fly out on the 1st....I have 3 friends joining me.....I know I can hang but not sure on the others!! lol

I can probably make that happen ...

Do we need a code phrase, such as "A Volkswagen Karmann Ghia has no radiator"?

SSB

Perhaps we should say "I develop all my film in a light room"

I think all the camera equipment will give us away ;) It might look like B &H is having a yard sale if you glance over in my direction... I'll be carrying a tripod and a black camera back pack.

You could always tempt them with a delicious Columbia Harbor House lunch. Tuna fish has been known to do strange things to cats and traveling companions.

At Columbia harbor house there is a relatively quiet upstairs area that is off the beaten path. That would make a better place to casually meet than the chaotic downstairs area with the wenches running loose and the pirates clamoring for tartar sauce. First one there saves a table by setting a tripod up in the middle of it, sort of like a photographers Jolly Rodger!

We'll be there...in spirit. But we'll be there in reality, too...in Disneyland.

Should be fun. My wife will be live blogging the day on our website's Facebook fan page with her iPhone if anyone is interested in following along.

That describes me as well. Of course, I'm male,so there's that. Also, I'll be wearing a Disney Hawaiian shirt — probably my green WDW 40th anniversary shirt.

You might see me earlier in the day or late at night. I'll be the guy shooting with a tripod and continually telling other guests that I don't work for Disney as they try to hand me their Photopass cards.

I just hope the weather cooperates. Coming outside this morning, I saw a very nice sunrise -- if I get something like it at WDW I'll be most pleased. I see that sunrise in Orlando will be at about 6:50 on the 29 and the 1st. Have to remember to look up sunset times as well.

I'm thinking the sunrise this time of year will be coming from more or less due east -- over Tomorrowland. Also hoping to get some sunset shots around Splash Mountain (would have said Big Thunder, but not if there's visible scaffolding in place there), but that doesn't have to be on the 29th. Animal Kingdom is open until 8 pm on our first full day, so I'll probably be there that evening -- never have gotten a nighttime shot of Everest, and the Tree of Life beckons as well.

So, are we going to do some sort of lunch thing as discussed? I'd like the chance to meet you guys (or anyone else who might show up) while we're there. We're leaving tomorrow to drive down and I'm not sure how much Internet access we'll have, but I will have my iPhone. We'll be down tomorrow and depart on March 2, if anyone else will be down there during that time.

I'd be willing to privately share some personal contact info with anyone planning to be there who might want to meet up in the parks. Just let me know ...

Check your PM messages for my contact info

We might have 2 chances at a sunrise shot if they let us do the slow exit early morning on March 1st

Lunch at Columbia Harbor House at 11:30am sounds good to me. First one there sets up a tripod (if you've got one) on the table as a flag

PS. If anybody else is interested in stopping by, by all means do so. No pressure and no reservations needed. For those of you traveling, have a safe trip!

Anyone know what time the monorails and/or buses will start running Wednesday morning?
