Can you bank points serveral times in a year? For example, if I've got a January UY and I'm not sure what my plans are, could I bank half of them and then still bank the other half in, say, August? Or do you have to know it all at once?

Yes, you can bank multiple times, subject to the posted thresholds.

However, the exact scenario you described would not work. Assuming you had a January UY (which actually doesn't exist), your banking priviledges would go something like this:

Jan - June: 100%
July - Sept: 50%
Oct: 25%
Nov - Dec: No Banking

These totals are CUMULATIVE. So, if you banked 50% in February, you only have until the end of June to decide if you want to bank any more. From July through the end of the year, you would no longer be able to bank additional points since you are already 50% banked.

Hope that helps.

You can bank as many times as you want subject to the banking windows.

You can bank up to 100% of your points as long as you do it before the end of the 6th month following your use year. For example, if you have 200 points and a February use year, you could bank all 200 (one point at a time, if you like) as long as you make the calls before the end of the day on July 31.

If you make a call between July 31 and October 31, you can bank up to a maximum of 50% of your allotment. So if you already banked 125 points in May, you couldn't bank any more after July 31 because you already have more than that in the bank.

The 25% deadline is before the end of the 10th month and there is no banking at all during the last two months of your use year.

Best wishes -

Thanks, I'm glad I asked! I had no idea they worked that way - could have been a nasty suprise. I

I appreciate the help.

Sorry, just thought of another clarification. If I were to use half of my points in the first half of my UY, could I still bank the other half in the second half of the year, even though it would be all of the points I have left?

I just said to my husband that I thought all of this was very straightforward, but then I keep thinking of more questions. Thanks for your help!

If you've banked points but later want to use them in this UY can get them back before the next UY?

Yes, it is 50% of your total points after 6 months.

No, you would have to borrow them from the next use year. Once they are banked into a different use year, they can't go back.

I may be misunderstanding Diane's position. But if you bank 50% in the first 6 months, you cannot book any more points once you get to the 50% booking window as it is cumulative. The exception is if you've transfered points in, they fall outside the booking windows in some respects.

To clarify Diane's answer, you could only bank the rest in this situation if you called to do it before the end of your 50% banking window - that's the end of the 9th month following the beginning of your use year.

If you call to bank during your 10th month, you can only bank up to a maximum of 25% of your annual allotment. You can't bank at all during the last two months of your use year.

Best wishes-
