We just returned from a glorious 2 week stay at the Wilderness Lodge, and I felt like doing some quick, as in one line or so dining reviews of the TS places we ate this time. While we did a number of repeats from past trips, we also added a few new places. (Yes, we were on the free dining plan):

CRT (1st time-dinner) - I wasn't expecting much, but the meal and character interaction were pretty good. Cinderella in particular, during the photo shoot, was wonderful with our kids, especially our 3 year old son. Well worth it for us at least this one time

Tusker House (Many times-dinner) - Excellent as usual. Food was good, atmosphere always pleasant.

Chef Mickey's (Many times-dinner) - Same as usual. OK food for a buffet, but great character interaction. We generally hit this every trip.

Rose and Crown (2nd time-dinner) - We had perhaps the best meal I have ever eaten at Disney World here. I had steak, wife the same, the kids fish. The food was great, the atmosphere wonderful, and the server fantastic. Will definitely return.

50's Prime Time (Many times-dinner) - Good home cookin' as usual. Make sure to fill up on the PBJ shakes, LOL.

T-Rex Cafe - (1st time-dinner) - Wasn't sure what to expect. What we got was a super cool atmosphere, average food, and OK service. The kids loved it, but for what it cost, we will probably not return.

Ohana - (Many times) - We did dinner here. It was excellent, with excellent service, and a great view of MK. We always love this place, despite the varied reviews.

Garden Grill - (1st Time-dinner) - We love it here! Amazingly! We picked this as we have never eaten here before, and figured what the heck, it's free dining. The food was good, the service FANTASTIC, and we had some of the best character interaction ever. The characters spent a LONG time at the tables, and the kids absolutely loved it. We will go back, despite the very mediocre reviews I have read.

Whispering Canyon - (Many times-dinner) - Love it. Love it. Love it. It was really nice to eat here as we were staying at the WL anyway. We filled up on everything they offered, and waddled to the pool afterwards. :lmao:

Tony's Town Square - (1st time-dinner) Last time we will ever eat here. Mediocre does not even describe the food or the service. Not bad mind you, just, well, mediocre. Considering this is probably the most prime restaurant location in all of Disney World, it was very, very sad....

That was all of them. Again. CS is always a mixed bag of course, and we vary where we eat from trip to trip. All in all, this trip, we got out money's worth, and then some, our of free dining. I think the TS meals alone added up to well over what the plan would have cost, not even counting the CS and snacks.

Welcome back Steve,
Glad you had a great trip. I still haven't tried Rose & Crown. darn it, I'm going to have to plan another trip to get that one in.

Welcome Back :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for posting. We are looking forward to trying Tusker House for the first time in November :goodvibes

Tusker House (Many times-dinner) - Excellent as usual. Food was good, atmosphere always pleasant.>>>> I looove Tusker House as well.

Chef Mickey's (Many times-dinner) - Same as usual. OK food for a buffet, but great character interaction. We generally hit this every trip.>>>I agree with you. The character interaction is AMAZING! But the food was mediocre at best.

Rose and Crown (2nd time-dinner) - We had perhaps the best meal I have ever eaten at Disney World here. I had steak, wife the same, the kids fish. The food was great, the atmosphere wonderful, and the server fantastic. Will definitely return. >>>I also enjoyed my steak at Rose/Crown, far better than the one i had at le cellier believe it or not!

50's Prime Time (Many times-dinner) - Good home cookin' as usual. Make sure to fill up on the PBJ shakes, LOL. >>>I love their PBJ shake. So yummy.

T-Rex Cafe - (1st time-dinner) - Wasn't sure what to expect. What we got was a super cool atmosphere, average food, and OK service. The kids loved it, but for what it cost, we will probably not return. >>>I agree, amazing atmosphere. Food is average, but pretty expensive. We've been twice, only cause we wanted something with a fun atmosphere. I've been to raglan road and would love to return, but my son won this argument. So we went to TRex. Lol.

Ohana - (Many times) - We did dinner here. It was excellent, with excellent service, and a great view of MK. We always love this place, despite the varied reviews. >>>been to their breakfast and loved it. But never tried their dinner. Would love to thou!

Tony's Town Square - (1st time-dinner) Last time we will ever eat here. Mediocre does not even describe the food or the service. Not bad mind you, just, well, mediocre. Considering this is probably the most prime restaurant location in all of Disney World, it was very, very sad....>>>Again, I couldnt agree more. I had the most disgusting food at Tony's, I wouldnt go there ever again, even if i had the prime spot for the parade. So not worth it!!!

Tusker House (Many times-dinner) - Excellent as usual. Food was good, atmosphere always pleasant. - it was just ok. i was expecting it to be like boma, but it doesn't come close at all. It was worth it to eat there to get the nemo reserved seating, but not for the food.

Chef Mickey's (Many times-dinner) - Same as usual. OK food for a buffet, but great character interaction. We generally hit this every trip. had a surprisingly good dinner here!!! the character interaction was good, and the food and service were even better. we weren't expecting much as we've been disappointed in the past, but it was really good. We met the chef on the night we were there (Chef Matt) and he was understandably proud of the quality of the food!!

Rose and Crown (2nd time-dinner) - We had perhaps the best meal I have ever eaten at Disney World here. I had steak, wife the same, the kids fish. The food was great, the atmosphere wonderful, and the server fantastic. Will definitely return. we also had a wonderful dinner here. The grilled salmon was stupendous as was the lemon meringue pie!!!! we will also definitely return!!!

50's Prime Time (Many times-dinner) - Good home cookin' as usual. Make sure to fill up on the PBJ shakes, LOL. - this is also a regular lunch stop for us and it was fun as usual - with good food and super PBJ milkshakes!!!!!

T-Rex Cafe - (1st time-dinner) - Wasn't sure what to expect. What we got was a super cool atmosphere, average food, and OK service. The kids loved it, but for what it cost, we will probably not return.
