O.k we are staying at Pop Century for 7 nights holiday in March and were thinking of spending nights 8 and 9 at a different resort to try somewhere different. We stayed at CBR in January and loved it but with the pool closure would like to try something else.
First...is it alot of bother to change resorts for the last 2 nights? Is it difficult to get your luggage etc over to the new resort and will it take a long time?
Second....where to stay.....It's march break and I can't afford 600 a night for the poly so I was thinking either POR, Coronado Springs (which looks nice) or the resort with the huge waterslides/pool ( i think beach club or boardwalk not sure) .....
Help???:confused3

I put on atleast two major events a year at WDW and my family comes at the end of at least one of the events and we usually switch hotels because my wife has her favorites (Poly, CR, AKL)and they are usually not the resorts I choose to host our events (YC/BC, Boardwalk). We usually have a car so transfering luggage isn't normally an issue other then having to pack and unpack. The last two times I we have had an event two of my employees ended up staying with my family and they one of them called a taxi and the other was able to work something out with the front desk and they had a shuttle transfer their luggage. As for the other part of that question, "will it take long?" I would say its only going to take as long as it did at the first resort.

My response to your second question will probably differ from the majority on these boards (or maybe it won't). CSR has a great pool/H2O slide but I personally cannot stand this resort. it is very spread out and I just don't care for the rooms (haven't had good luck with service there either, but that obviously changes with the situation, as employees come and go, blah blah blah). So that being said I would go with PORS, or FQ but I like RS Mansion rooms. The resort grounds are gorgeous and the room decor is beautiful. I used to love the food when the resort was known as Dixie Landings but I think it has dipped in quality in the past few years, however it is still good.

To Summarize: I say go for it, switch resorts and have an extra experience on your trip and I say you should choose PORS. Good Luck, and have fun no matter what you choose to do!

Can you swing 3 days instead of only 2? I think the minimum number of days to really enjoy a resort switch is 3. It takes a lot of time to pack your bags. check out of your old resort, check into your new resort and settle in. You can also find yourself "homeless" if your room at the new resort is not ready.

I happen to LOVE CSR. Sure, it's spread out but it has an internal shuttle that runs on the walkway inside the resort. Just flag the driver down and hop in!

I have to agree with PP about CSR, the resort is just too doggone big. I would have loved to see one of those internal shuttles on even ONE of the mornings I walked up to the food court, rode one in the afternoon one day only. I wouldn't rely on coming across one when you needed it. On the other hand, it was a very quiet resort (except for the idiot yelling to his wife down the walkway just at the moment he happened to pass by my door at 1:00am-I just don't get people in hotel areas...remember people are SLEEPING!!) and quite beautiful. The pool was awesome, but due to the fact that we were probably the furthest room from the restaurant, I have to say again..it is just too big....for us..

We have switched resorts mid trip once before. I don't remember it being difficult..we had our own car and we used an "off" day to move.

Can you cut one night off of POP...

I agree with previous poster.....3 nights gives you a real feel for
the resort.

I would try POFQ...after being at CSR...it is real big...
You might appreciate a smaller resort.

It does have the smallest pool slide though...
Stormalong Bay's pool slide is awesome

I personally like to settle in and stay put, but that is just me.
The resort will transfer your luggage for you, but it does take several hours for this to occur. You can check into your new resort in the morning, but as a PP said, you will most likely be "homeless" for several hours until your room in the new resort is ready. You might get lucky and it is ready when you check in, but most likely not.
I loved POFQ when we stayed there. It is the smallest of the moderates and everything is convenient.
The pool (Stormalong Bay) at the Yacht and Beach Club is awesome. I think it is the best resort pool on property. I would suggest at least 3 days if you decide to stay here.
Have a great trip.
