While laying by the pool I overheard one of the maintainence guys talking. He was saying that they are building another rollercoaster and a water park area in animal kingdom. Interesting hmm.

I am sure that even the people at WDW hear so many things everyday, they probably don't know what to believe.

It will be interesting to see what develops over the next few years.

Wouldn't water parks in the AK lead to bathing suits in the prak which Disney supposedly frowns upon? I don't know, so don't crucify me.

I can't imagine the bit about the water park being true! You must have misheard that? Maybe it's a water attraction/rollercoaster like Atlantis at Sea World?

It would be nice to have more big attractions at AK. I LOVE this park, but would love it even more with extra attractions, and there's so much land there it has a huge potential for expansion! :thumbsup2

I agree with you. Especially since Blizzard Beach is so close to AK, I can't see them putting in a whole other water park right there. Still, you never know. But a new, themed water ride would be a very nice addition to AK.

Ahhhh......... Before he was out by the pool, he probably said to a co-worker "I'm gonna' say _______________ about _________ out by the pool. Let's see how long until it's on the 'net" :lmao:

Seriously, I doubt the maintenance guys are privy to those kind of plans.

I believe it when it's announced at a news conference or an official Disney press release.

I'd love something new at Ak! I love it now but growth never hurt anyone! I seriously doubt a waterpark within AK but like some have already said, a water ride (along Kali/Splash type lines) would be nice!

Actually that isnt the case at all. I just put it up here because it is what the guy said and it's fun to speculate about these things. When I am at work I have more important things to do then start rumors on a message board.

??? *** ?
So are you saying that you are the "maintainence guys" who started this rumor? I think if you will read a little closer the other poster was trying to suggest that Disney employees love to start rumors and tell them directly to and around guest and watch the rabid fans of anything Disney to repeat them on the net.

Good point I miss read the post and apologize.

I'm with you, JimB. I sometimes have this mental picture of Disney employees, at their morning meetings, deciding which "news" to leak that day just to tweak the public. Just part of the fun for us, though-wondering what cool thing Disney will come up with next.

I heard they were re-opening River Country.

Yep, it's overflowing with fish and gators but Disney have launched a new advertising campaign - forget Shark Reef at TL, try Gator County at RC! But don't worry, I hear they've taken out extra insurance in case you lose a leg or your children get eaten....

Well, I don't know, we have noticed a goodly number of guests walking around AK in bathing suits, I would think, primarily because of Kali River Rapids.

Just got back and something is being built at Ak by dinoland next to Everest..

Yea, that's where the old Tarzan show was, only now they are enclosing it for Nemo.

What ever did happen to Rivery Country? Wasn't that part of FW?
