If you had one night to spend at a DVC DW resort where were you want to spend the night? We need one night in May because we are going on a cruise the next day. I am curious what other people would prefer. Would we want to take it easy at OKW, take the opportunity to take in the fun at BWV, or take advantage of the monorail at BLT? What would you do and where would stay? We probably won't go to a park but just enjoy the resort and some things around the resort.
:confused3

We have 3 one night stays at WDW before other types of vacations coming up. 1 is at AKV, for the animals, 1 is at BWV so our DS and his family experience BWV (we have always stayed with them in a dedicated 2 bedroom, this will give us a chance to see about the lock offs), and the last is 1 night in a treehouse just before our November DCL 3 night cruise.

Bobbi:goodvibes

I'd want to stay at BLT just because I haven't stayed there yet. However if it were just two of us, and wanted to be a little romantic, I think I'd go for VWL or AKV. I just think their dark colors make them romantic. And then compliment it with dinner it either Artists' Point or Jiko!

First thing that popped into my mind was BLT MK view. Could eat at the CR probably at an off busy hour, settle in a end the night watching fireworks from your room... Think that would be a magical way to kick off the cruise :)

I think either the Poly (there are lots of good restaurants you could hit within a monorail ride and we love the pool and atmosphere) or the Yacht Club (which also has many good restaurants accessible along with a nice walk). Oh, sorry, I missed the part about being a DVC resort ....

One night, without parks, I'd have to pick OKW or SSR. We love the Downtown Disney area and it's dining possibilities. A simple walk or boat ride to DD and OKW being my favorite resort is as lovely at night as it is during the day!

If it were 1 night no parks, I'd go for SSR and the walk to DTD. If I was going to do a park, I'd pick the MK and go for a MK view at BLT:cool1:

We actually did this for a night before our September, 2009 cruise and stayed at BLT. Not only did I want to check out my "home," but we did MNSSHP that night and getting back to BLT was, oh, soooooo convenient. :thumbsup2 AND, the next morning, we were able to easily get to Kona (DH's favorite) for breakfast before driving to the Port. It was ideal! :goodvibes

with one night and no parks, I would stay at BWV or BCV. There is boardwalk activity, the surrey bikes to rent, ESPN , and I think a piano bar.

Since it's only 1 quick nite I would try to book something gentle on the points...We like SSR & it's quite nice as well as an easy water taxi ride over to DTD for the evening.

I would agree with this. If you stay at BCV you can experience their cool pool Storm-Along-Bay and then hop over the BWV to experience the Boardwalk and the more adult night life there. Arrive early if you can. The downside to a one day stay is that it is really like two half days. Even if you can't get your room early you can use all the facilities and make it more like a full day.

your going to get as many different answers as there are resorts available to you. And as many different reasons why as there are people answering.

Go where you really want to go! You won't regret it

BLT:stitch:BLT! BLT!!!!! Your inclination is awesome. Magical. Be sure you check out Work2Play's chart. we have stayed in both MK and Bay Lake views. The Bay Lake View, on the north end, outer rim of the "c" is perfect. you can see everything! have a great time

Do you think BLT would be a good choice?

:rotfl2:

The practical side of me says stay where it would require the least amount of points... but if I could stay anywhere I would stay at AKV b/c I love Jiko and Boma! So my answer I guess is stay close by to where you might like to eat! :thumbsup2

I would try for BLT. And do some resort hopping too! Or just stand outside the gates of the Magic Kingdom and breathe the air.... :D

That would be torture to stand outside and not go in. I might not return with my sanity intact. :dance3:

Thanks everyone for your input. I wish that one night could last forever.
