one deposit or two?

If our group of 7 (4 adults, 2 kids & a baby) all book together under one ressie and we get two rooms, do I pay a $200 deposit or $400? This is a package, not room-only. Just curious -- thanks!

Your travel party is the same as mine and when i called today to add the second room for the additional 2 adults, I was told that you can only have 2 adults per reservation, so I had to give an additional $200 deposit. So, $400 total.

It is $200 per room per package, so if you have 2 rooms you would pay $200 each or $400 total

I booked a package today for 2 rooms for 2 adults/4 kids and CM referred several times throughout the call to the $200 deposit, but when it came time to give my credit card info, he said $400 is needed.

Thanks to this thread I told him that I read somewhere that it's only a $200 deposit since there's only 1 adult in each room and after a few pauses he said he'll let me pay just the $200 instead. I'll let him believe he was doing me a favor and gave me some pixie magic.

I have always read in the past it is per room, so $400 for 2 rooms would be right. Now it may have changed, but I know in the past that was what I was told here.

We have always, ALWAYS been charged $200 per ROOM. We have 4 children, 2 adults as well. Even 2 days ago, when I booked 2 rooms at POP for us, I had to pay $400 because it's $200 per room.

Now that we switched to Asmu family suite (which counts as ONE room), we only have to pay $200 but since the already had the $400 from our 2 pop rooms, they just moved it over.

Your information is correct. The WDW computer system would not have let him just take a $200.00 deposit if that was not the correct amount.

I don't know, maybe the CMs weren't trained correctly or were mis-informed, but it is $200.00 per reservation. They have tried to charge us the $400.00 a couple of times when we have booked, but each time I told them to check with customer service and when they came back on the line they told me that $200.00 was correct. Also, there have been a couple of threads in the past, on the resort board, where some former CMs have verified the $200.00 per reservation amount.

We always just pay 1 deposit for 2 adults and 5 kids.....but the minute we added my MIL last year they had to change it to 2 ressies and charged us another 200.00. Then we had to drop her off of the ressie and they weren't able to merge it back to one ressie. We had to cancel and they were going to charge us 2 cancellation fees so we just rescheduled to save on that. But now all our dining credits and tickets....etc are on 2 different ressies so it's going to be difficult for me to keep up with what is on what card when we're paying for food....etc. Oh well.....small hassle to go to Disney

I have deterred from putting this on the resort forum for fear of getting flammed to the point of death, LOL! But, last time I booked a trip with my parents, I inquired to the CM and said I wish there was some way to keep it one reservation with the two connecting rooms and he told me to just list my parent's ages as 17, that way we could keep everybody on one reservation. He said it was fine because they were still being charged adult prices and since we had two rooms we weren't getting out of any extra room fees. So that's how I booked it and he was right, everything was fine. And it was SO great not having to worry about who had how many credits left on which card.
