It's that time of year again. Picking up college daughter and with work schedule I may be able to squeeze 1 day in disney(we could get in late night one hit park day two then hop on autotrain day 3)
So the question is where should we stay? Should I stay offsite that first night and then check in to someplace onsite? Or just stay offsite both nights? I was excited to see spring discounts but really no cheaper rooms available.
Money is an object so I don't want to blow $1000 on 2 nights in a hotel.

Suggestions? We are the disney freaks in the family and would love to have a fun day just us 2.

Have you looked at room only discount on Orbitz? It is Disney's discount and then an additional 15% off that using their promo code BESTVACAY is what I think the new code is now. I would stay onsite but that is my preference.

I don't think you'll regret the convenience of staying onsite. Like PP mentioned, Keep looking the deals are out there! Good luck and have fun!

Short trips are where I like to go all in on the Disney feel and actually love the value's. Really, you are going to try and cram in as much park time as possible and that means very little resort time. Your daughter and you will each have your own beds and will probably just use the room to crash.

Have you ever used Orbitz to book a Disney property? If so, has there ever been an issue regarding getting all the same benefits as if you'd booked the room directly?

I agree with the others that I'd stay onsite. As a pp suggested, try looking at Orbitz as sometimes you can find a discount in addition to Disney's discount. Good luck!

The two trips prior to last year I used Orbitz with no problem! I will use the from now on espcailly since we do a room only reservation and tickets with undercover tourist. We never do the dining plan so no need for us to book a package. The only issue is that you need to pay the full amount. I just put it all on my credit card and pay the balance like I would if I had booked a package.

Thanks everyone I'm stalking orbitz now! Fingers crossed
