We will be hitting both parks in one day.
Agres range from 7 - 37
I know we will wantto hit mummy, men in black and suess landing, spongbob and super heros but beside one trip to Universal years ago we are all complete newbies. What would you hit? When? schedule?

Thanks!!!!

I would try to find a few more days to spend there. Sorry it's probably not what you want to hear. I couldn't do both parks in 1 day. Is it possible to lengthen your trip?

Are you staying onsite? Then it might work. Not well mind you, but you should be able to hit the highlights.

If you are not staying onsite, then I agree with the above. If you can possibly fit one more day in your schedule, better yet two, you will have a much better experience. The recommendation is usually one day per park and then a third day to re-ride the favorites.

We never miss the Horror Makeup show when we are there. In IOA - don't forget Popeye, Jurassic Park, Hulk, Dueling Dragons and last but not least, Spiderman is a must.

For the 7 year old, Camp Jurassic and Curious George play areas are wonderful.

As for schedule - if you are not staying onsite - get to the parks early, early. You want to be there before they open.

What time of year are you going? If it is peak season, you may want to consider purchasing express passes for your group. This will help you get everything done in one day.

Well, telling you to stay an extra day probably doesn't help you much if you don't have extra time in your schedule.

To help you with your planning schedule, we need to know when you are going. If it's the first couple of weeks in Dec, or in Jan/Feb you should be able to do most of each park in 1 day, provided you arrive at opening and stay 'til close.

The first time we went, we had multiday tickets, and went to US first. We arrived fairly early, right around opening time I think. We did almost all rides/attractions, but at about 5:00 pm our son was anxious to go to Spiderman, so we raced over to IOA. In about 45 mins, we rode Spidey 3 times (walk on each time) and Hulk twice (childswap). At that time of year, the park seams to really empty out between 4-5, so you should get nearly as much done during that time in the 2nd park, as you will between 9-11 in the first park.

When we went, we did both parks in one day, rode all the rides with NO PROBLEM. In fact, we got there about an hour after park opening and left about 2 hours before close. All in all, we were there from about 10a - 4p. And we spent close to an hour eating at Mythos. Granted, this was in the middle of October on a Wednesday, but still, it was VERY easily done. And we DID NOT have express pass (and felt sorry for all those who had paid extra for it). My advice would be to take a look at expected crowd levels during your stay, go in the middle of the week, and decide what you REALLY want to do ahead of time and do that first.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately we will only be there one day and we are staying at the Nick hotel not onsite.

I figure that this will be just for the highlight tour of the parks.
Oh if this helps we are going next week. The sat after Thanksgiving.
