one day tickets

Im asking on behalf of a friend. She is traveling to Florida next week and the family wants to do one day in WDW. I said what is the focus, and the answer is kid focused. So I suggested a Magic Kingdom day on a easy wdw suggested day. I have only ever done packages with multiple day park hopper tickets so I dont know the answer to the following: If they get a one day ticket could and how would they say leave the park for a dinner elsewhere and then re-enter for the fireworks?

Their ticket will allow them reentry just like your MB or ticket does.

Yes. You can re-enter the same park without a hopper ticket.
