One day park ticket

I have a friend who last minute decided to throw in a day at magic kingdom on their Florida vacation (she is staying with relatives an hour away) She leaves tomorrow so I am trying to help her with best option for tickets. Does she need to get them directly from Disney since she needs them within the next few days or can she get through AAA, etc.? Also, will she have a magic band or do they still have hard tickets for one day?

For a one day ticket, resellers prices are usually higher than Disney prices, so she should just get it at the park. If she doesn't have a resort reservation, she will not get a magic band, just a ticket. She could purchase a magic band if she wanted.

If I were her, I would purchase the ticket on the WDW website (choose the will call option), link it to her MDE account and make FP+ now! She can pick up the physical ticket when she gets there.

The only place that discounts one-day tickets is USSSA. I'm not sure, but I think they have to mail the tickets to you. And you may need proof to qualify these days.

I would not pre purchase.

We often do 1 day trips, when visiting family in Tampa. Years ago we bought the Non expiring ones and still use those. But unfortunately that is no longer an option. We always picked the day based on weather and when we thought it would be less crowded etc.

I would purchase at the gate unless they are completely sure they plan to go rain or shine. If they end up having crappy weather they may not want to go but have to since they were already bought. I don't mind going in the rain...but some people do.
