One day only with little kids

We have 2 parks one day tickets and are going on Dec 20 after our cruise. We have to leave for our flight around 3pm, what is the best park/attractions for a 2.5 and 4 year old to check out? We have never been before.

Universal has the Barney Show/playground, Woody's rollercoaster, Curious George playland, and Fivel's playground.

IOA, the only place my DD likes is Suessland. They have a Carosuel, train in the sky, "The couch ride", One Fish, two Fish, If I ran the zoo playground.

Check the park times. We were there in Sept. and the kiddie area at Universal didn't open until 11:00 or after. The timing of it's opening may play a big part in your choice with your time constrictions. There is not much else for little ones. Shrek and Jimmy Neutron, but that is about it.

Now, DD3 LOVED IOA. We spent 3 hours in Suess Landing. It does NOT take that long, but she wanted to ride things over and over again. She was just thrilled with EVERYTHING there.

Personally, we were disappointed in Universal but were very happy with IOA--adults and kids alike. However, we are just one opinion and you should definitely make your own.

A note about Shrek-it can be dark and loud. My DD went once and refuses to go again. Jimmy Neutron is also dark, but has some non-motion seats in the front. I agree with making your own opinion. Each child is different. We usually head to IOA first and then to Universal. DD also likes the characters at Universal.

We were at US (not IoA) in January with my 4 and 2 year olds. They loved Fievel's Playground - they could play there for hours (and did). ET was neat, but most of it was over their head since they haven't seen the movie (I am partial as I used to work at that ride). They liked Amityville's shark and games??? Also, Jimmy Nuetron was long for them and we had to sit in the bench for DD2.

The characters do stamps - but DD got to see Dora and DS loved Scooby Doo and Curious George. It was pretty laid back since there isn't too much for preschoolers to do there (IMHO).

In IOA there is a great playground in the Jurassic Park part. My boys were 1 1/2 and 3 the first time we were there and they had to be dragged away. There are extensive nets to climb, caves to explore and water cannons to spray. The boys still have the pictures from this area in their rooms as their favorite memories. Every time we go to Universal we go to Suess Landing and Jurrassic Park first. They also liked the animal show in US when they were smaller.
