So, we have booked our honeymoon as follows:

First four nights at BLT, in a studio.
Next four nights, moving to a one BR, at BLT. (Hoping to switch to BC at the 7 month mark)

Last five nights at the poly.

We chose the one BR smack in the middle of the trip to be able to do laundry.....But now I'm wondering if we really need the one BR?? Is it that much more comfortable?? We could always use the communal laundry room :confused3

I also realize that the Poly is NOT the best use of our points, however, we still have some banked points due to our developer points, and we REALLY want to stay there, but don't want to lay out anymore cash to do so. (With the wedding and all it is too much).

As a fairly new DVC'er , I guess I am looking for some guidance :hippie:

Thank you!!

I'd probably do the 1 bedroom the whole trip, but that's me. I didn't buy DVC to stay in hotel rooms and studios.

If you are bent on staying in hotel rooms and studios and plan to do the 1 bedroom part of the time, I'd make it at the end of the trip. End up with the best accommodations for the best memories. I wouldn't want to do all that moving from resort to resort though, on a honeymoon!;)

If it were me, a one bedroom, BWV, Boardwalk view for the entire trip.

The Whirlpool tub in the 1br is well worth it... I hope you get into BCV... you will be pleased!

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, have fun on your honeymoon!!!!!! My wife and i usually get a 1 bedroom just because we like the kitchen and the space. My question is why the poly? Your points will much farther at a dvc resort. Also keep in mind you use more points on fri and sat nites, so if you were to use cash use cash for fri and sat nites. Check which nights you are at each resort keeping in mind fri and sat are almost as many points as sun to thurs together. Every night is same price for paying by cash. If you dont need a kitchen then do all your nights at a studio.
The main thing is you stay where you would enjoy the most without blowing your budget. You only honeymoon once enjoy it.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Personal preference for us has always been the 1 br, although our DS and DDIL did a split stay between a 1br BWV and the GF for their honeymoon and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Careful once you stay in the 1 bedroom you won't want to go back to a studio. The tub alone is worth it!!

When we go we get a 1 bedroom when we have the kids and a studio when it's just the wife and I, but that's mostly because we are hardly in the room anyway. We're up and out early and don't come back until late at night. Being newlyweds you might spend more time in your room and you'd want the extra ammenities.

When DH and I do our two week trip, we do the first week in a studio and the 2nd in the one bedroom. Mainly we were doing that for points reason but it works just fine for us. We like have the extra room and the laundry that the one bedroom offers but don't mind the studios as well.

Enjoy your honeymoon

Another vote for a 1 bedroom. If it is the Poly pool you like you can pool-hop to use it if you choose. (We stayed at the Poly before DVC but I would never stay there now over a 1 bedroom.) Have a honey of a honeymoon!

We had a very long wedding/honeymoon experience at WDW, since we got married there and DH was on his R&R from Iraq. We spent 6 nights at the GF around the wedding, 1 night in a studio at SSR (because our DP worked out that way) and 10 nights in a 1BR at SSR.

We love the 1BR, because it feels so luxurious and spacious. But, we're at BLT right now for a short 4-night stay (in a 1BR). The 1BR is amazing, but it is HUGE. We didn't like the studio at SSR AT ALL, but I think a studio at BLT would be great, as well.

I do agree that the POLY is not a good use of your points, and you might do better paying cash to stay there on your weekend days. I like all the WDW for different reasons, so I can understand you wanting to stay at the Poly (I do too!).

I think it depends on what you'll be doing. If you plan on relaxing quite a bit, the 1BR is great for the space and the tub (and the shower). I have to admit that aside from the view and the overall ambience of the resort, the actual room at GF couldn't hold a candle to our room at BLT.

I know that's confusing, but it comes down to personal preference, so I wanted to give you some opinions.

I think having the 1 bedroom to take care of the laundry is a great idea. I know that you can use the laundry room when in a studio, but having stayed in them for a week with 3 kids this summer, it was not the most convenient piece. There were times I would go all the way down and nothing was open.

Then, I had to be sure that I did it when I was around the resort. I ended up waking up at 6:00 am, just to put it in.

The other piece, however, is what it does to your points? How does this affect things going forward. If you have the points to use, then I say go for it.

For us, we will not hesitate to do the 1 bedroom, even though we are done to only one children traveling with us (others will be in college) and in a few short years, many trips will be DH and I.

Matter of fact, next summer, we are spitting 3 nights in a studio and then doing the 1 bedroom at BLT for 3 nights, just so we can end the trip with the tub and the laundry.

Have a great honeymoon and enjoy!!!

After staying in a 1 bedroom, we will never stay in a studio again. The 1 bedroom is so much nicer than a studio. Having all the extra space, and your own washer and dryer, full kitchen, and huge tub is wonderful. I am going to second the opinion that 3 hotels is alot of moving around. We stayed at 2 resorts our last 2 trips, and we have vowed from now on, only 1 resort per stay. We just felt like we lost almost a whole day from our trip on the day we switched resorts.

:goodvibes if you have points to do a 1-bedroom then do it. for a honeymoon might do it.

that say happen to love studio...

can you change your Polyn reservation - yes it is not a good use of points but hey if they are dp go for it. you have such a limited time to use dp in the first place.
