One big (blended) happy (sometimes) family PreTrip June 09 *new updates* pg 8 6/11

I just have to post these pics.. I was going through my external drive and found these. LOL

Jack is trying to be cute and put his arm around Catherine for a picture LOL She was like "do NOT touch me!" LOL So funny. Gotta love how he tries to be a good brother

DSC02655.jpg

About an hour later she finally was in the mood to be TOUCHED in a picture

Then finally... Us :) Aren't we cute! LOVE HIM!

Okay, back to talking to myself LOL

Okay so I've been doing some stuff to get ready.. yes months in advance but my girls don't have tons of SUMMER clothes. LOL In florida we always have shorts etc but the girls needed some new summery colors etc for our trip in June. Also, we needed a new stroller.

On our trip in Nov, our green Kolcraft umbrella that I'd used since Cat was 2... we accidentaly taken. I like to think of it that way, because WHO would steal at Disney. All I know is that I parked it outside of Buzz in the parking lot and it was not there. 2 CMs and I searched ALL of tomorrowland and .... no green Kolcraft with a yellow ribbon on the handle :(

So about a month ago I bought a new one.. Its a BRIGHT pink Graco umbrella we LOVE it, the handles are even higher then others, so its easier for Steve to push AND he WANTS to push the bright PINK stroller :) YAY!

And today, I bought the girls some new shorts, tshirts, sneakers (they need to be broken in) and swim suits. Also got Jack some new swim trunks and 2 new 'outfits'. Do boys really wear outfits? I don't think so, but what else do you call it.

With a 7 day trip, I don't want to do laundry so many things to wear ... GOOD!:laundy:

Jack and Em STILL don't know we are going. Cat knows, but J&E are clueless. I always mention, "When we go to Disney...." but they just don't do the math.:teacher:

YAY, shopping is always fun!! You have to start early because if you wait, you'll never find what you're looking for. So good for you! Sounds like you got some good stuff!:thumbsup2 I call my boys clothes "outfits" too....never thought about it until you said something...lol!! Oh well...my boys were outfits...heehee!!

I can't believe that your stroller was accidentally taken when you were there in November! I'm with you, who would steal in Disney? What a shame!! But how cool you got a new bright pink stroller and Steve is okay with pushing it?!:cool1:

You're on countdown!!

Okay.. so last night we ate dinner at O'hanas and MAYBE watched Wishes! from the beach... It's a hope, but also a prayer, we'll see how the kids last.

This morning.... MK (no EMH) so we'll be able to sleep a bit and be at MK for rope drop :)

Hoping to head in and go to the left. We'll do that side of MK to start our day and get as far as we can. I'm hoping to do Adventure Land, Frontier Land & Liberty Square. Depending on crowd & time of day, I'd like to head to Tomorrowland for some Buzz.

We'll grab a CS lunch either at MK or at POFQ, can you believe how UNPLANNED I am!! Geesh - I just don't want to get too many hopes up b/c it IS June - ya know!!

After lunch we'll have a good swim in the pool and a NAP! I'm a napper, I gotta tell you - I LOVE to nap! And with 2 rooms, hopefully the kids can at least nap if Steve and I cannot fall asleep. I'm worried about him. At home, he naps on the couch... I nap in the bed. If he naps in the bed at home, he's NOT getting up. LOL Let's hope he'll get up! Or maybe I can send him to the POFQ lobby to curl up on THAT couch. That will be a sight, 6'1'' 210 laid out on the couch (he sleeps curled up) snoring... WELCOME TO DISNEY KIDS!

So anyway... Naps.. Yeah, I love to swim & nap. It gives me a fresh restart of the day feeling. I usually take my shower and do my hair at this time too.

After naps we'll get spit shined and ride the boat to DTD. I love POFQ!!

I'm hoping the kids will do their trip shopping at DTD. I have to admit, I don't LOVE to shop. I mean Target - YES!! LOL I do love World of Disney but with my kids it really wears me out. They take painful amounts of time to figure out what they want.

So we'll shop and hopefully the kids will spend their money. I personally think WOD is the place to be, it has everything! So I don't doubt the kids finding what they love here.

After shopping and enjoying DTD - I love the stage area and have never NOT (double negative) seen something I didn't enjoy. Cat always LOVES the hula-hoop contest. The girl can spin a hoop. LOL So can Jack, so she has some competition there :) .... what.. oh yeah

After shopping and enjoying DTD we will be having dinner at TREX. I have not gotten reservations yet, but plan to call here SOON. gosh, how soon do I need to call? Anyway, is it even part of the normal ADRs or do I need to call the restaurant directly? hmmm, note to self: Figure that out!

Have I mentioned I love DTD and the fact that I can boatride there from POFQ? :cloud9:

Okay... to bed at a good time and up early for MK EMH!!

The pictures you posted are too cute!!! I love Catherine's face in the first one. And you and your Dh are too cute!!!!!!

Your plans look great!!!! I want to take the boat over from Port Orleans when we do DTD too, it sounds so nice!

LOVE the pics, too cute!!!!:cutie: Thanks for sharing!!!!!:goodvibes

Haha. I love looking back at old pics. That was just in Nov. Gosh they've all grown up so much just since then.

I can't believe that your stroller was accidentally taken when you were there in November! I'm with you, who would steal in Disney? What a shame!! But how cool you got a new bright pink stroller and Steve is okay with pushing it?!:cool1:

You're on countdown!!
Yeah, I was way annoyed but the CMs were helpful and brought us a Disney stroller from the front to use for the rest of the night. WHICH was needed b/c by then it was 7pm and Em was fading fast. She slept through Wishes! completely!

He's excited about it and I just laugh. He's such a good Daddy. He carries the backpack too. I don't know what to do with myself and all that freedom! :)

The pictures you posted are too cute!!! I love Catherine's face in the first one. And you and your Dh are too cute!!!!!!

Its that a hoot. Pic #1 was at the Mill at Tom Sawyers Island. And even Em was like "look cute, for a picture.. NO". Turkeys.

The boat to DTD is amazing. We've done it from POR and POFQ. FQ is a quicker trip, but both are just beautiful and SO convenient!

:) Okay.. where are we? Oh yeah, we spent the evening at DTD. TREX for dinner and were in bed at a decent hour to get ready for MK EMH.

So up and early to be at MK by 7:30 for EMH rope drop. I sure do hope that we'll make it on time and everyone gets up. On a daily basis the kids can be hard to wake up. Catherine hops right up and out and she's trained in the Disney pace. Emma wakes up saying "I'm tired" and I usually have to dress her before she is UP. Jack has his days. I've learned that if you let him shower in the morning. He'll wake up much easier :)

So 7:30 rope drop :) AT MK.

We'll do what any smart DISer with little ones does at EMH. Head to Fantasy Land. We'll hit all the big ones and hopefully get FPs for Buzz before Toon Town opens. Hit Toon Town at opening and get the character lines done. After that, I'm up for anything the fam wants to try.

Lunch is wherever we want. CS at whatever everyone feels like.

After lunch we'll head back to POFQ for a swim and a rest.

Around 4pm we'd like to head over to MGM for the night. We have 7:20 ADRs for 50s Prime Time. I love this place. I think my kids will have fun once they get a hang of the attitude. Emma gets so shy but lately has been coming out of her shell. We'll see how she does here. Catherine loves to order for herself and just take care of herself and Emma is growing to be like her.

While at MGM before our ADR we'll try to catch a few things, but we have and MGM morning planned so we can do lots then too. After ADR we are HOPING to catch Fantasmic. If the crowds are super bad, or the kids are too tired, we can skip it, but I at least want to TRY! :)

Okay... that was a boring overview of my plans for Day 4. I know it looks like a long day, but that mid-day break should really help out.

And a reason that missing Fantasmic might be okay.. Tomorrow EMH at AK. AK - my FAVORITE park!!!! I can't wait to share it with everyone!

Good morning Disney Campers!!! - That is what I'll be saying to my bright shinning children on this morning. We will be going to one of my favorite parks. I love Epcot and Ak... which I love the best?... hmm I think AK.

AK is my favorite because of the space, the options and just the theme of it all. I'm not a crunchy granola girl, but I love the idea of nature the animals... its just a great park.

Okay so anyway... we're going to be at AK when the gates open for EMH. The plan.. straight to EE. Grab FP and ride it. Catherine & I are the only coaster fans. Well Emma LOVES them, but I don't know if she'll be tall enough. We'll have to see.

After 1 ride, FPs in hand, off to Safari we go. After Safari, do the trails, maybe conservation station... then off to Lion King. From Lion King... off to Bone Yard for the kids to have some fun. Maybe I'll let Steve ride Dino.. I'm not a fan.

Hey, does Dino have single rider line? hmmm.... When in the BoneYard I'll skip off to get FPs for Kali.

Lunch in there somewhere

Tough to be a bug, Jungle Path, EE, Kali and off we'll go. :( Bye AK - I LOVE THEE.

Oh yeah, when around the park we'll do the character meet & greets. I am making the kids some home made (thanks to Penny) autograph books.

Once done with AK, we'll head back to the resort for swim, nap, shower. How much of this we'll have time for will depend on how the crowds are at AK.

We have 5:30 ADRs at Chef Mickey's. This is a FIRST for me. I'm really excited.

Can I be honest - I am MOST excited about the desserts. Every pic I've seen or review they look devine! mmmm Can I JUST eat desserts? LOL

After CM we'll hop the monorail to MK for some rides, shows, Spectromagic and Wishes!

Okay, thinking about it, we might have to see how AK is going... we'll definetly need a nap in there to make it to 10pm Wishes!. We can miss conservation station I guess. We'll just go with the flow. :)

What is a perfect day... starts at your favorite park, ends at your favorite event - Wishes!

:)

AK sounds nice. I am really looking forward to this park too. But when I think about the other three, I am really looking forward to them too:yay:

So, although April has been my month OFF when it comes to wedding planning, we have done something.

For the 3rd time, we changed our mind in regards to our honeymoon. LOL this is destination #4. 1) Hawaii - changed b/c airfare was just too much for us right now 2) Bahamas - changed b/c we just talked to alot of people and decided there was more to do in 3) Los Cabos Mexico. But Steve is out of work - again. The project ended, the company which promised to have another spot for him filled all their spots. He has 2 interviews next week but I am just terrified to buy plane tickets and not have $ to spend on enjoying ourselves... SO the honeymoon will now take place in....

4) Key West at The Reach Resort. Key West is about as tropical / Caribbean you can get w/out getting on an airplane. We're really excited about it and I think I will fall in love with Key West and not want to come home. From all the pics I've looked at, its devine! I can't wait!!!

So that is the biggest wedding news I have. That and I'm working on ordering my flip flops. I need them by my fitting in late May :) YAY

Sounds wonderful...can't wait to hear about Key West!! :thumbsup2We want to do a carribean trip for our 10 year anniversary (9/10) but maybe after hearing about your trip/seeing your pics, you'll change my mind. I've heard a lot of wonderful things about Key West. Hey....I don't think it really matters where you go, as long as you're together, you've find your own magic and make your own wonderful memories!!!:goodvibes

What kind of flip flops are you getting? To go with your dress? Pics??:cutie:

Sorry to hear that Steve is out of work again....keeping my fingers crossed that next weeks interviews go well!!

So, after a VERY busy weekend... I decided I had to keep my promise to my sweet girl that I'd take her to Disney the 1st weekend we had with no Jack & Emma and no god-daughter. That was this weekend.

This weekend was also a bbq cookout Steve arranged to throw and this weekend was also the annual Desoto Heritage Festival Grand Parade - a HUGE Bradenton tradition. It was my 1st year watching it as Steve & I were out of town last year for it. Catherine was ON a float and she had a great time. I had a great time watching it too. We were out until 11:30pm, and at 6am my alarm went off. YAWN.

I'm still recovering and will upload pics this week and put together a quick synopsis on it.

:) Also - I have a GREAT idea for our trip in June.... I'm doing some research on it. LeCellier dinner = DATE NIGHT. We'll take the night to have dinner at LeCellier (which we already have ADRs for) and enjoy WS at night JUST US. So I need to figure out if 1) I can change our ADR from 5ppl to 2ppl AND 2)figure out all about Kid Clubs AND 3) Look into how this will muck up DDP credits.

More to come..... Stay tuned!

Yeah... status update.... Ixney on the ateday.

:( Its just too much $$ to do the kids club. I might look at in-room babysitting but will need to talk to Steve about that 1st. Hmm .. I tried!

I think it just gives good reason for us to have a weekend get-away. mmhmm! yup - that's it! LOL

Okay - back to work.

Oooo, I can't wait to see your Disney pics, you guys must have had so much fun.

We did! We did! Last night I had to get some pics sent to my mother of Steve & I for a party she is throwing us this summer. Tonight I will work on uploading WDW pics :)

My legs are still sore and my throat still hurts (from our parade Sat night). I'm ready for Memorial Day so I can have a 3day weekend!

So - Catherine and I LOVED our day at WDW. We got up at 6am and were pulling out of the drive-way at exactly 6:59 - RIGHT on time!

After a gas stop we were on I-75N headed to I-4. The drive was easy and after a quick potty break at a Rest Area we were pulling into the Magic Kingdom parking lot.

I pulled through a gate agent on Catherine's side. She had fun rolling down the window and holding up her AP - "pass on through" - Yes SIR!

We parked in PLUTO 14 and were lucky to find a spot on the waiting Tram. I made a friend with the family next to us. They had the stroller I'd recently bought for Emma and I wanted to know their review. well - they had just bought it the day before and hadn't even used it yet themselvs. Well phooey!

Off the tram and up the Monorail ramp we headed. We LOVE to ride in front, but I wanted to just get there, I was not that concerned about it this time. As we got onto the platform people were queued up to load and I noticed nobody in line for the cab. So I asked and :) BINGO - we got to ride up front.

Finally the monorail pulled into the station and I am loving the new design they did.
DSC03146.jpg

We loaded up and met our captain "tom" and off we went.
DSC03148.jpg

We entered MK at 9:05am, just 5min after rope drop - that darned potty break! But it was okay. We had 2 goals this day:
1) See TinkerBelle
2) Pin Trade

We 1st headed down Main Street and were going to hit Buzz since we had time before 10am. A few snaps on Main Street USA

DSC03159.jpg

And an idea of how BUSY Tommorland was at opening
DSC03165.jpg

On entering Buzz there was a mother taking a pic of her family under the sign. We could have A) stood there and waited B) cut in front of them to get in C) been neighborhly and offered to take a pic of the entire family.

I'm from the South, I chose option C. She was so pleased to be IN a picture. As the family picture taker, I know exactly how it feels to look through vacation photos and have NONE of yourself in them.

We all then headed into Buzz and walked RIGHT in, it was EMPTY. I tried to get a pic of our score but could not.. I beat Cat by 20k points - TAKE THAT 8YO! HA! lol just kidding, I was nicer about it. Love that kid!

Leaving Buzz we met Stitch. There was only 1 family there to see him so we hopped in line.
DSC03170.jpg

Catherine really wanted to do the Speedway but it was posted at 20min and we really wanted to be at ToonTown for rope drop. We opted for TeaCups instead.

Does anyone remember a few posts ago where I mentioned we had a late and FUN night the night before yeah... TeaCups was NOT enjoyable. But I love my kid, so of course I did them. Might have exited a bit Green... but I did them. While waiting for our turn (there was no line, we just had to wait for the party in progress to finish) we noticed that ALICE was riding with a very lucky little girl. It was neat to see her on the ride.
DSC03175.jpg

Walking a little off and feeling a little green we lined up at Toon Town for rope drop. We were over on the right side (Note: If going to pixies... Stand on the LEFT) But after singning Happy Birthday to everyone and doing the countdown, we were right in.

Catherine and I were the 2nd family to see the Fairies. It was such a magical place, I really did love it!

On leaving I had NO idea how to get out of there. LOL I had to go back in and ask the CM "how do I get out?" she showed me but sweetly said "you can stay forever if you want". Umm OK!

From there we just did a UTurn in the gift shop and lined up for the Princesses. We were 3rd family in line there and were in very quickly to see them.

DSC03196.jpg

*apologies.. end of pics. I think I just put the camera away, and left it there*

--editing to add -- When we circled back to get in line for the Princesses, the Fairy line was through the 2nd set of doors. When finishing up with the Princesses the Princesses line was to the 1st set of doors and Fairy line past the 2nd set of doors still.

After the princesses my daredevil wanted to ride Goofy's Barnstormer. So we did a whirl with Goofy! VERY fun! It wasn't busy, we just had to wait for 2 planes total.

I'm still feeling green and wanted some air conditioning. We headed over to Mickey's Phillarmagic. We LOVE this show, it is so good. I spent most of the show watching Catherine. She was so funny - She was leaning and grabbing and jumping.. I love how she still gets SO into it! I hope the magic takes a long time to go away.

Cat's next request... SPLASH! Passing through Fantasy Land, I noticed (not yet 11am):
Dumbo - 20 min
Small World - walk on
Peter Pan - 30 min
Haunted Mansion - 10 min

When we got to Splash it was POSTED 40 min and Thunder was POSTED 30 minutes. FP return for Thunder was 11:30AM (it was just before 11:00). We decided to grab FP for Thunder, stand-by Splash then be ready for Thunder return time.

Well - Splash only took 20 minutes for stand-by. It was no where near the 40 min. We lucked out as a party of 2 and got to skip a few families to fill a log.

The couple in front of us asked Catherine "so is it scary?" She said "no its fun". She requested the right seat knowing she'd get the most wet. She told the gentleman in front of her "you are in the wet spot". Unfortunatly we did not get wet at the one spot where the spray gets you. Oh well.

The ride was great, only 1 short stop (half expected with Splash). Every room we went into the nice couple in front of us (late 50s) kept asking Catherine "is this it?" Finally at the point where it said "DANGER" Cat yells "THIS IS IT!" LOL It was really fun!

So Splash done, it was like 11:25 and we had to wait for our FP time. We sat on the rock by the entrance and the CM just kind of nodded at me, and let us go in a few min early - THANK YOU!!!!

Thunder was a stand-by time of 30 min but it didn't look that bad. With FP we walked right on and got the front row. - Party of two!!

On pulling into the station, the people loading the train were people who walked into the Stand-by line when we walked into the FP line, so Standby was NOT 30 min. GOOD ON THEM! The 50ish couple we met on Splash... waiting to board our train - HI!!!!

After Thunder we got Hot Dogs from the street vendor then Fries from the OTHER vendor, found a spot to eat outside Peco Bills and enjoyed a lunch! It was a nice shaded spot.

when we finished eating it was 12:00 on the dot. We cleaned up and decided to head out of MK. It still was not THAT busy....
Pirates - 10min
Aladdins Carpet - maybe 1 - 2 cycles of the carpets to wait
Jungle Cruise - 30 min

On Main Street we stopped to watch the performers (ya know..the couples on the trolley who dance etc) then exited the park and took the monorail to the TTC.

That concludes the MAGIC KINGDOM portion of our day. Next up... the longest Monorail ride EVER and our 4 1/2 hrs in EPCOT! :)
For those of you concerned about that day's crowd levels.. here are some notes I took.

Yay for your day trip to MK!!! Sounds like the perfect time and crowd levels....Catherine looks so much bigger than the last pics, did she get a haircut? It looks so cute!!:cutie: Love that you can go in a day any time you want....SO JEALOUS!! Can't wait to hear the rest!!:goodvibes

So, we left off headed out of MK right after 12noon. We headed straight to the TTC monorail. The monorail pulled up right after we walked up, good timing. We jumped into an empty car.

Once at the TTC, we notice the Epcot monorail is there... at the station... with its doors open. So we run over to the train and just jump in the closest car.. ya know because we suspect it will be leaving soon and we had JUST-MADE-IT.

Umm no. We are standing, because of course we jumped in the closest car and it was packed and we didnt investigate for an empty car. We stand. And Stand. And Stand. After 5 min I let Catherine sit - on the floor. They make an annoucement - they will be performing a quick scheduled check on the train, it will just be a few more minute delay. Ummm OOOOKAY.

So the train moves! YAY! Then it feels like the the train pilot is break checking - very jerky. We came through the station and stopped. A nice man stood up and let me have his seat. They'd just arrived and ya know.. he was just nice like that. So 5 more minutes we sit there then finally!!!! We're on our way! YAY!

Quick remainder of the trip and we're at Epcot. We speed through bag check, enter the park and (of course) walk straight towards Soarin'. We want to grab FP as soon as we can. We enter the FW courtyard (the one in front of The Land) and stop to read the digital sign. It reads like this:
1:02PM
Soarin - 50 min
Test Track - 70 min
Mission:Space - 30 min
Nemo & Friends - 10 min

YUCK! FP Return time was not until 5:10pm. We wanted to be gone by 5... so.... We shrugged and said "oh well - we can ride it in June".

We then headed to Test Track to grab a FP. On our way, we saw the street entertainers (garbage can/clay pot guys). They were great - we really enjoyed them! Test Track FP return was 3:00, so we grabbed those and headed to Mission:Space.

We love Mission:Space, and of course we do Green Side. Ever since Catherine was born, I CANNOT spin. Spinning makes me so sick. Teacups is murder on me, but its the most I'll do - I love her, but only so much. LOL

While in line for Mission:Space, Steve had called - he was at the store trying to get a new phone. The phone store was giving him a hard time b/c our family plan is in my name. So after M:S I stopped and called the phone company and made sure he was marked as being able to do whatever he had to do. Call made, we were back on our way.

We had time before our TestTrack FP so we just wandered around. We did some shopping at MouseGears, watched the fountain dance, tasted Beverly again then we headed to SpaceShip Earth. It was a 5min wait, no problem at all.

Ya know, I don't LOVE the new ride. The ending just could be SO MUCH MORE then it is. *sigh* oh well. Catherine likes it. We always have to go save the power grid at Project Tomorrow.

Oh well, after SpaceShip Earth we got some popcorn and drinks and watched the garbage can guys again. They were really fun to watch. Catherine enjoyed a few runs through the mist then it was time for our Test Track FP.

So, by now stand-by line is 60 min.. we walk in the building and there was no way it was 60 min. I'd bet stand-by was really 30 min wait. Today was the day of over-estimates on stand-by lines.

Test Track was great as always. Sometimes it feels like the hair-pin turn is SO much faster then others LOL.

Ride completed, we did a stop through MouseGears to pick up what we'd picked up earlier and we headed out. :( Bye Epcot!

Monorail was quick & uneventful. We got to TTC, hopped on the tram and before you knew it, PLUTO 14 was in sight.

I turned the car on, clock read 4:49pm. Not a full day but a very GOOD day at WDW.

:) Just 2 more months and we're here for a week! YAY

Please note: Of the entire day, Catherine traded 2 pins. LOL She was just NOT into pin trading like she thought she'd be. :) Oh well! We still had FUN

YAY - I love calling there! It was funny calling from work. The voice response unit that you have to TALK TO. If I don't talk slow & soft it never understands me (note: I talk kind of fast sometimes).

Anyway so I'm saying "YES" "ORLANDO" "YES" "YES" "NO" and the guy I share a cube with was like "WHAT are you doing?" Heehee!

So I paid the rest of Steve's reservation!! :) YAY! Paid he and the kids in full. I still have to pay the rest of MINE and I just don't have the $ until next week. They said that is fine - THANK YOU.

It just felt good getting his paid up :)
