I recently tried to get a 2 bedroom for 5 nights in November, but none were available. MS managed to me a one bedroom and a studio at OKW. On another post several people questioned why I'd spend more points for the separate rooms. Although a fairly obvious point, I was so relieved I could get any rooms that it really didn't occur to me.

I guess my question is, if they have a one bedroom and studio available, couldn't they link them up to be a 2 bedroom (with less points)? Or are only a certain number of rooms set aside as a 2 bedrooms?

My follow up question deals with the waitlist. I am currently on the waitlist for a 2 bedroom at VWL and BW (automatic booking). I did not specifically request to be on the waitlist for a 2 bedroom at OKW. Given the point differential, I guess I should. However, if that came up, would they cancel my other waitlist requests? I wouldn't want to leave my "place in line".

Thanks for your help. This stuff can be tricky!

You called only 4 months in advance. One thing I would suggest to all members is to make your reservations as close to the 11 month mark as you can especially when you want to vacation duing popular DVC times. OKW has dedicated 2 bedroom units. They also have one bedroom with lock-offs. By the time you called all of those must have been rented out and accounted for, leaving just one bedroom units available and studios. They must have reached a point where joining the two to make a 2 bedroom is not possible. I find this situation a little difficult to understand but I suppose it can happen. Either that or you got a new MS that does not know whcih end is up.

1833:

You said you are on the waitlist to automatically book BWV or VWL without a phone call if something becomes available.

I'd suggest calling MS and do two things:

1. Ask them if they can change from an automatic booking to calling you to confirm. Be sure to clarify they can do this without changing your place in line.

2. Add yourself to the waitlist for OKW.

When a room comes available at any of those three resorts, they will put a 24 hour hold on the room, call you, and attempt to confirm if you want to change the ressie or not. Depending on which resort has come available, you can then give them very specific instructions on how to handle the rest of the waitlist. For example, of the OKW 2B comes up first, you can verbally clarify that you DO want to stay on the waitlist for the other 2 resorts.
