Judy, so sorry to hear that Lisa has been so sick lately. We've been thinking of you and we'll be praying she makes a quick, full recovery. Give her our best, will you?
Tracy, glad to hear Emile is making such good progress! Any chance he might be home for Christmas?
Our car was vandalized Thanksgiving night at our hotel while we were out of town for the holiday, so I've been running around the past few days getting quotes to fix the damage ($$$) as it involves both the lock on the driver's side door and a cracked windshield needing replacement, and we haven't decided whether to pay out of pocket or go through insurance. I've been playing phone tag with the insurance company, and learning the ins and outs of filing a claim, as we have never filed one for either auto or home before and don't know how it all works. Not happy about any of it, but it could have been worse. They didn't actually make it inside the car so we didn't lose any belongings, and the car was still driveable/lockable via remote even though we can't insert a key in the lock anymore, so we made it home OK. I am hoping to have it fixed over the Christmas break so I can rent a smaller car during repairs since I won't be having to take the kids to school then. What surprised me is that the police didn't even want to come out to make a report, we had to push him to come to the hotel to get one for insurance. The officer wanted to do it over the phone - I could have told him whatever I wanted and tried to get insurance to pay for anything like the little scratches we had already gotten on it earlier, how would he know? No wonder insurance rates are so high these days!
