One became SEVEN?!? How did THAT happen? 4/24 UPDATE

Thank you everyone for your prayers for me and my family. My dad is still hanging in there and is mostly coherent with some confusion occasionally. Me, my brother, and my step mom have been spending a lot of time with him. His sister came down to see him today which was nice. My stepsister is going to bring his granddaughter to see him tomorrow before he gets to incoherent because she is 3 she doesn't really understand.

Thoughts and prayers to all that need them.

Marilyn

Marilyn, Prayers to you and your family during this difficult time. I know how hard it is to say goodbye. I'm glad that you have been able to spend lots of time with him. hugs

While I have use of this computer I will to try to update. I can’t get the DIS to load at all most of the time. I can read usually, but not respond.

Lisa’s cardiology appointment Tuesday was an array of emotions. While we didn’t get the news we had hoped to hear, it could have been a lot worse. Lisa’s mitral valve numbers have worsened and there has been a slight enlargement to the left ventricle and a slight thickening. The pulmonary stenosis has increased slightly (5 % more ). We don’t have a lot more room to worsen before a repair is imminent for that need. Otherwise things look remarkably stable. Unfortunately, the changes are the precursor to the upcoming Open Heart surgeries she needs (Mitral Valve implant replacement to an adult valve and Pulmonary Stenosis repair)...we know they are coming, we simply choose to file it away at this time. I will not live my life in fear and neither shall Lisa. Prayers have been the best medicine for her and I ask for you to please continue with those.

Dr. O is a skilled physician and we like him. It is difficult to have had a physician for nearly 11 years who knows your child as part of his family and to then try and fill in the missing pieces for someone else. I do think a trip to Charleston to see Dr. G is coming, I am still sorting out my thoughts from the visit. I received the hard copy report yesterday and am curious as to why I received a “version 2” report...that has never happened. What does that mean, that you you redacted something from the first report you didn’t want an RN Mom to see? I will call Monday to inquire.

We had a triple header Neurology appointment on Wednesday. David's was uneventful, Rachel is still showing residual signs from the concussion 7 months out. 85% cases are back to “normal” on first concussions by the 6 month mark...this is us, we SHOULD have known we would be in the 15 %. Lisa is still getting over some side effects from the medicine she was on. She is better; however we could use focused prayer for that please!

I woke up Wednesday barely able to walk. I still can’t walk much and the pain is intense. The pain and lack of mobility was so bad on Thursday I called an Ortho. He couldn’t see me until the 19th; however, the PA could. I went immediately (yes, that tells you how bad it was/is). I have posterior tibial tendonitis with severe pronation (I have had that all my life). He gave me naproxen, said he wanted to wait until I came back before he put on a boot to see if I improved on my own, gave me a flexband and a sheet of exercises, wrote an order for me to buy pricey orthotics and told me to come back in 6 weeks. I told him I could hardly walk and he told me to do the best I could, but that was good, I needed to stay off my foot anyway. So I am hobbling around without pain relief, no support for my foot and an appointment to be fitted for orthotics in two weeks (and then at LEAST another three weeks to make them). My plan is to stay off my foot as much as possible the next two days, which I have to do, I can hardly walk. I will finish the taxes and the FAFSA for David’s college as I stay off my foot.

On a happier note, both girls performed at The Evening Muse Wednesday night. Lisa had some issues just before going on stage (Read the youtube intro if you want a little more detail) however, they both did a fantastic job.*Here are their videos, let me know what you think if you want me to keep sharing them.

FOOL ON THE HILL

HALLELUJAH from SHREK

Tracy and I have had a full plate, not sure if we are ever going to get a TR started!
 :faint:

Marilyn, I am truly sorry for the pain your family is enduring, you are in my prayers. Michele, I pray your Mom continues to heal. Jennie, is DH home yet? Gail, if you want to call today if you have time, that would be great!! I am upstairs for the weekend, so I will try to hear the phone if no one is downstairs. I pray daily for the needs here, spoken and not.

Judy, Thanks for posting the result from the children's doctor appointments so we know what to pray for directly. Will also be praying for healing of your foot. Sounds painful and hope that the rest you give it this weekend will help tremendously. I'll call you sometime this morning.

Love the performances from Lisa, Rachel and Pete from the Evening Muse. Billy says he loved hearing Lisa's sweet voice along with her playing the ukelele. Besides, he always liked the movie, Shrek. Rachel played wonderfully as usual and she did a great job on putting her own touch at the end. Both are so talented!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks for updating. Sorry that Murphy's law continues to follow you. Glad Lisa can hold off a little longer in the surgery for her heart. That is curious why you got a 2nd edition? I look forward to seeing the videos

Thank you for the updates on Lisa's appt. I am with you on the concern. I will definitely be praying!! I'm also praying for Rachel and all of you!

As for your foot, may I suggest trying KT Tape to help with the pain in the meantime? There are a couple of tapings for posterior tibial tendonitis. I have had really good luck with the tape. Let me know if you'd like to try it and I'll share some of my tape with you. They have videos on YouTube to show you how to apply it.

Bill is not home yet, but it will be soon! Kaity was singing a little song she made up today about it going to be the best day ever. I've been working on our costumes for the races. He's totally done, one of mine is done and I just have to finish the last few bits on my 10K costume. I'm debating whether I want to get out for a training run today or get started on spring cleaning the house. I have a feeling I'm going to pick the latter and get the run in tomorrow, but we shall see.

I will try to make a point to come back and watch the videos tonight. I pray your foot starts feeling better.

luvin the videos of the girls. Hallulujah gave me goosebumps. :goodvibes

Judy I'm so sorry for your foot issues. Goodness, we need momma well! I hope taking it easy helps. That must be terribly frustrating.

Thanks for sharing the latest regarding Lisa's cardiology appointment. It definitely helps to know specifically how to direct prayer.

I want you to know that although I have not been keeping up lately you are fondly in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you relax and enjoy your weekend.

Marilyn: I'm so sorry about your dad. Praying for you during this time.

Thanks for the update Judy! Praying for Lisa, I hope the version 2 report doesn't mean anything, it would be terrible if they were trying to hied something. I am sorry to hear that there are still residual signs in Rachel from her concussion. How frustrating about your foot. I hope resting it this weekend helps.

Loved the videos

Right, TR, :scared1: when are we going to get that started :confused3

I am so excited for you, Bill coming home and running at Disney :cool1: Good luck with whatever you decide to do today.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Judy sorry to hear about Lisa, Faith also just had her cardio checkup and we received similar news. It looks like this time next year (or possibly sooner) she will be having #2. I will be keeping you all in my prayers!

Wonderful videos of the girls. Thanks for sharing. Have you seen the Clovertons' Christmas version of Hallelujah?

I'm sorry the medical appointments didn't bring great news. It is good that you tell us these things so we can support your family in prayer. Also praying for your foot to get better and for you to be able to stay off of it.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and for the words of encouragement. If you can continue to pray for my family. My dad passed away just a little while ago.

Thoughts and prayers for all.

Marilyn

Your father is at peace and is no longer suffering, prayers sent for you and your family during this time of sadness.

Prayers and thoughts for you and your family during this time. :sad1: :grouphug:

Judy continued prayers for your family!! Sorry the appointment didn't go as well as you hoped. Of course Rachel would fall in the 15%. Sounds like something that would happen to us too.

Great job on the performances girls!!! :lovestruc I do enjoy watching them perform. Hopefully one day it will be in person and not just videos.

I'm sorry the news at the appt wasn't better, however it sounds like things are more or less as expected as you know an impending surgery exists. I personally would not be concerned about a version 2 report. Chances are a version 2 report just gives more details and was completed when the doctor had time to do a more detailed report. At least that's the way I've experienced things in the past.

Rachel did great but that's a Beatle's song I don't know. I will have to show it to dh though as he is a Beatles guru. We actually went to the symphony last night (just J and I as my sister has the kids for a sleepover) for a Beatle Classical Mystery Tour. It was really good.

I just love hearing Lisa sing. I don't know the words either and I don't care. Just listening to Lisa's voice is so calming. Do you have any type of cd made of her some of her songs? I would LOVE one if you do.

I'm going to look at the two other videos I saw once Alexa gets home. She keeps asking if Lisa got her letter (the one I sent with the NY card).

Hugs and prayers coming your way :)

Marylyn, I've prayed for you and your family during this time. Losing a parent is not easy. I do hope that over the coming days folks will tell you stories about him that will put a smile in your heart.

Judy I was so happy to see an update from you. I have missed you and appreciate your giving us an update on Lisa's appointment, I am with you, I have never seen a version 2 report either, it makes no sense. The report should be the report, period.

Yikes about your tendonitis, I am sorry to read that. I am certain you aren't resting, but I do hope you are staying off of it and you can have a speedy recovery.

Those videos of Rachel and Lisa are fabulous. Such talent from both girls. Fool on the hill is one of the lesser known Beatles songs, good choice, And did I hear a little of dear prudence at the end? That was a fun arrangement. I agree about Lisa having a soothing voice, I would love a CD of both girls. I still have to remind myself how young and amazing they are. I often take it for granted just how good they are because they are consistently great. Please keep sharing. I did subscribe to your youtube channel finally.
