One adult, one day... single rider lines and other questions.

I'm thinking of heading out to DLR for a quick trip before the baby gets here. (I'm adopting, so no "pregnant in DL post").

DD and I went to DL at the end of last month. While we definitely had fun, I had to bend to the whims of an 8yo... what she could handle, couldn't handle, would like, wouldn't like, etc.

So, here's my initial thoughts/questions:

What are the differences in traveling alone vs with kids at DLR?

Do a lot of rides have a "single rider" line (or any rides, for that matter)? Will this cut down my waits much?

I plan on making full use of the time I am there--from 7pm to close Friday night, and open to closing on Saturday. Should this allow me a fair chance at most rides (assuming good FP use)?

You should be able to get through most of the parks - it is amazing how fast you move when you are on a solo trip! The only rides I've used single rider on are Splash and TSMM. It was helpful on Splash - not very fast on TSMM but still faster than regular standby (just be prepared an empty seat is not automatically filled - the other rider is asked - amazing to me how many say no).

You will have so much fun - I love my solo trips!

The only rides I've used single rider on are Splash and TSMM. !

Just a side note, TSMM no longer has a Single Rider line. The complete list is in the link i provided above.

Single Rider is great on Indy (in my experience, faster than Fastpass). People say great things about Single Rider for Screamin'.

Soarin' seems to be a mixed bag. I've never done it but sometimes it seems like the single riders were waiting longer than FP users. On the other hand, if you prefer to be on the end in Soarin', I think single rider is the way to go!

I don't have kids but solo can be so much faster than even being with one other adult. On the other hand, if you want to slow down and enjoy something that might bore kids, solo is a great way to do that too.

Have a wonderful trip!

I'm going in July with my parents and sister, but I plan to ditch them and spend most of the trip on my own (they're aware of this). I'm going to do the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour, I think that will be awesome without the kids. I'm also going to ride everything that my kids don't like, twice.

A friend and I got to DL every fall, and we spend a significant amount of that time split up, because she likes to shop, and I like the rides.

It's great for a single adult, really. You can go where you want, when you want. You eat when you're hungry and sit when you're tired.

I love the single rider lines, too. I've used it lots on Indy. You actually walk down the exit, though, so be aware that you miss some of the (very fun) queue.

I like the single rider for Screamin' - first time it was quite confusing, atleast I thought! You have to use an elevator up and then down... Wierd :)
I have also used in on Splash and Indy.
It a lot quicker - imo :D

Glad to hear it sounds like I should be able to pack in enough thrills to tide me over before the baby comes. Yay!

Part of me feels bad--going to DL without kids--but the other part says, "Bring it on!" :cool1:
