Speaking of aging.... If Henry is Emma's son and he was adopted as an infant, that means that he's been aging in Storybrooke while time has stood still for everyone else.

One of the times when he told Emma that "bad things happen when you leave Storybrooke," she asked why he was able to leave. He replied that he was able to because he was a kid. Really? Does that mean that Hansel and Gretel could have left without anything happening to them? In reality, I think he was able to leave because he isn't a Fairytale character so isn't affected by the curse.

First was Cinderella - she went into labor just past the "Welcome to Storybrooke" sign. A second time was when Emma was driving Hansel and Gretel. Emma's car broke down and H&G's dad helped them. In the end, it was good but, if kids can leave without something bad happening, why did Emma's car break down?

Emma can, in theory, come and go as she likes but, in the first episode, she saw the wolf and crashed her car just as she was leaving Storybrooke. If the queen doesn't know who Emma is, whose curse is keeping Emma in Storybrooke? Mr Gold's?

I am CRAZY about OUAT, but I was disappointed last week. It was way too convoluted. And I'm worried about the Beauty and the Beast episode next week - I don't get Rumplestiltskin being the beast, because the whole point of that story is that Belle's unconditional love turns the beast human again, and we already know Rumplestiltskin stays nasty. Hopefully it will make sense. The best part of OUAT is the fact that it's a legend based entirely on Disney, so it's a fine line between honoring those stories and screwing them up.

But I'm not giving up - some episodes of LOST were clunkers too(and Disney + Lost = my idea of TV paradise!)

I am digging. I think it is more figurative than literally a beast. She falls in love with someone who is unloveable. And he isn't quite "The Dark One" anymore. We don't exactly know what his angle is but it doesn't seem to be pure evil.

In the H&G episode, Emma deliberately stopped the car, making i seems like they needed help to get H&G's dad to come out thinking it was a service auto call. Emma figured once he actually saw the kids, he would not turn his back on them...which is exactly what happened...he signed so she did not have to take them to foster care.

Wasn't it just as they were leaving Storybrooke? Her car was out of Storybrooke but his was still inside.

I'll have to go back and re-watch the episode.

Don't forget that Granny had a heart attack when Ruby tried to leave town to live in Boston.

Henry was not born in StoryBrooke. Maybe that is why.

I have been wondering this all along. And is it just henry or do the other kids age as well? Otherwise Henry would be aging and moving up a grade every year while all the other kids stayed the same. If all the kids age then some of them would have passed their parents in the 28 years they've been in Storybrook. The kids/age thing has really bothered me all along.

I am convinced that Mr. Gold/Rumpel is entirely outside of the curse (After all, he never would have agreed to the bargain with the Queen otherwise. He played her like a fiddle and she has no idea). He can certainly come and go as he pleases.
