Once Upon A Time

Just finished watching. Interesting. I don't know what to make of this.

The mayor (or EQ) had to know that they could not leave Storybrooke, right?:confused3

I'm sure I missed a lot last night, I was really tired. I'm thinking the stranger is Henry's father who maybe is Gold's son..... hmmmmmmmm wouldn't THAT be interesting??

Since there was nothing written on the paper Mr. Gold looked at for the name of H & G's father, does that mean he knows what's going on?

Because HE is the true puppetmaster here- Regina thinks she's in control.... but it's all Mr. Gold. I really think he remembers EVERYTHING from FantasyLand.

I don't know if the stranger is Henry's father. Knowing that Emma has not seen him in 11 years, you would have thought that there would be some sort of recognition - even if it was very faint at best. My guess that this new character is somehow tied to the EQ and the secret that was part of SW's betrayal.

Seeing the EQ's response to H&G's father last night, she seemed genuinely upset by his response of them being family and family is all that mattered.

I'm wondering if there was a great love that the EQ had for someone before she married SW's father (the stranger that showed up last night) and it was SW that "soured" that love and ruined the EQ's future with him. EQ could have married the king as an alternative and as a way to seek revenge on SW.

It just seems too obvious (and the writers of LOST were never obvious!) that this would be Henry's father.

In response to the OP about the blind witch and Maleficent, I agree, they looked so much alike that I thought it was the same person!!

Didn't the EQ complain to Maleficent that her "apple" curse was beaten by a kiss. So how did the blind witch get the apple when the EQ stated that she got it from Maleficent?

As for the stanger, he was looking for Storybrook. In 28 year the battle would begin and they need 2 sides for a battle. My guess is Mr. Gold who as rumple had a thing for trading magic for kids has sent other children to the "real world" so they would come and be part of the final battle.

The camera concentrated on the case that the stranger had on the back of his motorcycle. I think they focused in on it more than once. Also when they showed the previews for next week, they said "a handsome stranger". I thought this might be Gaston or The Beast. I'm only basing this off the word handsome.

Isn't Henry's dad dead. At least that is what Emma told him, that he was a firefighter and died helping save a family.

No, he isn't. Emma lied to Henry -- that is what she told MM near the end of the show.

Do you think the case on the back of the stranger's bike was the one Snow put the baby in?

Ok, I missed that. I had gotten a phone call. I usually re watch this show because I miss so much the first time :lmao:.

I know what you mean. I usually watch it again also. It is so detailed that you just can't blink for a second.

I have to go back and watch this, but my daughter was pretty certain that the case on the back of the motorcycle was the same box that the EQ put the apple into on her desk. Anyone else see that?

Just popping in to say that I FINALLY got to watch an episode last night and am hooked! Any important info. I should know from past episodes???

only about 77 pages worth!! :)

my best advice would be to read this thread from the start (if you have a couple of days!) as it does a pretty good job of capturing what happened in each episode.

Given we're about 10 episodes into the show....there would be a lot to try and recap.

I don't think the stranger is the big bad wolf. I don't think animals became humans to live in Storybrook.

Just a thought, is Storybrook in Maine or Mass? If it is in Maine, why would they call Mass Social Services for the kids and take them to Boston? Just wondering?

Also, does anybody else think that Mr. Clark is Sneezy?

I mentioned before that I love EQ's wardrobe.

I'm going to love seeing how this stranger side story plays out. There's definintely something with the box since they made an effort to show it.

Oh yeah, Mr. Clark has got to be Sneezy, I shouted that out to my DH as soon as I noticed he kept sniffing.

I think it is Henry's father. Just like H&G's father came to find them, Henry's father came to find him. Yeah, Emma didn't recognize him but we don't know the real story of how she got pregnant. It was 11 years ago, she was 17 and either in jail or soon to be in jail.

Did anyone else notice the blue crystal ball on the shelf in Mr. Gold's shop this week? Its placement was very obvious and I don't remember seeing it before. I also got a better view of the hidden Minnie in his shop this week.

A couple other things.... What about H&G's mom's name? Did Regina say it was Dory Zimmer? (Dory Swimmer as in "just keep swimming....") H&G's dad's name was Michael Tilden. What does Tilden mean?

The EQ looked hurt this week when talking to H&G's father. She wants the love that he has with his children.

The compass started working again as Emma is slowly breaking the curse.

How do you guys catch these things. I even try pausing at times when they are in the shop and I keep missing it.

IMDB says he is Sneezy

The EQ was telling Maleficent about how her Sleeping Beauty curse was foiled by a kiss. Not the apple. At least I think that's it.
If not, then maybe she got that apple (the story last night) BEFORE she had that meeting with Maleficent to get the dark curse.
They keep go back and forth in time so it gets confusing!

I was thinking the 'stranger' is either the 7 year old boy that found Emma by the road or Gaston. He did seem evil though.

I like your theory about the children! Interesting. :)

edited to add....

I just looked at the recap for the Maleficent episode.

Here's their discussion:

The Queen demands back her Curse, the one she traded to Maleficent for the “sleeping curse.” Maleficent tells her, “It’s not yours anymore. A deal’s a deal. I traded you my sleeping curse...” The Queen interrupts, “Which failed. Undone by a simple kiss.”

So maybe she was talking about Snow White.

Well.... we can rule out all fairytale characters since they can't leave Storybrooke.

I thought for sure it would be Henry's father, but Emma didn't seem to recognize him at all.
I wouldn't put it past Regina to have tracked him down and brought him to Storybrooke to make Emma look bad. It's going to be bad if Henry catches her in that lie about his father. Remember in an early episode she threatened Sidney Glass when she didn't think the information he had dug up on Emma was bad enough. He promised to keep digging.

That's a real possibility. Do we know enough about the timeline to put the betrayal before or after the Evil Queen's marriage to Snow's father?

EDITED TO ADD: Maleficent did tell the Evil Queen that "that little flake of Snow" is at about the same age the Evil Queen was when she wrecked the queen's chance at true love. Was Snow in her early twenties at the time of the curse? How old do you think the Evil Queen is?

I'm not sure where I picked this up but someone was putting out the theory that Regina might not know EVERYTHING. Perhaps, only part of it has been revealed to her in the same way Henry's book is an incomplete revelation for him.

I'll add this thought to that, Storybrooke is where the Evil Queen was supposed to find happiness. Do you think she could have that with the knowledge that a "savior" is coming to undo her curse?

I think the Big Bad Wolf would be an enchanted creature of some sort. I think of him sort of like Jiminy Cricket. He has an animal-like appearance but thinks and, if they follow the story, speaks like a human.

Also, I'd have to watch again to be sure but I think Regina said that she called Maine Social Services but the nearest homes that could be found for the children were in Boston.
