Once Upon A Time

I think we posted about the same time....I mentioned in the post above yours that they're skipping over ep 5, not sure why, though.

I was so annoyed to see this!! Ep 5 got bumped on my DVR the night it aired, so I have the next 2 episodes and I have been trying to find time to sit down at my computer and watch Ep 5. I was so excited the other night to see a commercial for the New Years Day marathon, and thought it was my chance to get it on DVR so I can get caught up before the new episodes start, but that is the ONLY ONE they decided not to air?! It's like they knew it would drive me crazy!! :rotfl: I hate watching them online because I can't skip the commercials, even though they are usually less than a minute long. I never watch things in real time, always on DVR, so no commercials for me!

I think this episode has to do with King Midas' daughter. When the servant pulls off the King's glove before he turns the sword to gold, he says something like 'Careful, remember what happened to Frederick'.

It's interesting to re-watch the show knowing that Regina remembers everything, gives it an interesting spin. :rolleyes1

Midas, gold, Rumple spinning straw into gold.... could Rumple be Frederick?

Nah, nevermind, but it could be from this fairy tale: http://www.authorama.com/grimms-fairy-tales-29.html

Ok, I'm mostly caught up with the marathon but not quite and had to shower and get ready for work tomorrow so stopped watching somewhere in the 9pm hour. Prince Charming has me all confused. First he was just in a coma, but now he's actually dead and had a twin:confused3 I can't picture the twin marrying Snow White. Not hte same manner at all. Help me out here.

So TAR is over I can pick up with the episodes now when they come back new next week. I am really liking the whole thing.

And I know they skipped it, but wasn't episode 5 the Jiminy Cricket 1 that explained the dolls in Mr. Gold's Store? I got to see that whole thing the first time cause TAR was an hour behind due to football

It can be confusing so here is a timeline of events that hopefully makes things clearer.

King and Queen can't have children so King makes a deal with Rumple.

Rumple provides King and Queen with a baby, one of a set of twins, leaving the second twin on the farm with his mother.

Fastfoward and the babies are now all grown up. One is Prince A and the other is still living on the farm with his mother. Neither knows that the other exists.

Prince A and his Dad (The King) go to see King Midas who wants a dragon killed, to prove his worth Prince A has to battle a fierce warrior. He "kills" the warrior and Midas gives him the job of killing the dragon. Warrior turns out to not be dead and once Midas has left he gets back up and kills the Prince A.

King is now in a bad spot as his "son" Prince A is dead but he needs the money from Midas so he calls on Rumple. Rumple reveals that Prince A has a living twin and he will bring the king this twin in exchange for info on the family's fairy godmother.

Rumple fetches the farmer twin (Prince B aka Prince Charming) and brings him to the King. The farmer twin (Prince B/Prince Charming) takes the place of his dead brother (Prince A) and is now masquerading as Prince A in order to fool Midas.

Prince Charming and his men go off and kill the dragon. Midas is impressed and wants to marry his daughter to the Prince. Prince agrees after pretty much being forced into it.

Prince Charming and Midas' daughter are in the carriage riding through the woods on the way to the castle when Snow ambushes them and steals Prince Charmings bag holding his mothers ring and this is when they meet for the first time as shown in the episode "Snow Falls" toward the beginning of the season.

At some point in the future which has not been revealed to us yet Prince Charming gets out of having to marry Midas' daughter. He then finds Snow White, kisses her back to life, they marry, Evil Queen places her curse, he gets stabbed right before the curse takes effect thus in Storybrooke he ends up in a coma.

I hope that made things clearer rather than more confusing.

very nice Lifelong Dreamer!:thumbsup2

I watched off and on tonight, and one thing still bothers me and that is with Rumple. He is locked up in FL, yet not in SB, right? How is this? And where did PC go? He too is in SB.

The previews for next week have me very excited to see it. Anyone care to guess what may happen? I am really thinking that Emma is going to go back to that building that his heart is in.

Assuming PC = Charming, then we've seen lots of him in the "present". He was the guy in the coma that is back living with his "wife"

I like this show...but I am somewhat confused...as I started watching a few shows in..... I don't quite get who all the characters are....though the last one I watched where the cute guy died died b/c he had no heart was very sad....
are all episodes available online? BTW,I tried watching "grimm' on NBC and it was so dark,I hated it,this show is much more fun..... I think one of the few shows I did see was the one that others said they didn't, with the King, and 2 princes, etc.

It really helps to watch them from the beginning. They're all available on Abc.com right now until the new one airs on Sunday (I think anyway.)

My husband likes Grimm, so I'll watch it with him if I'm home. I'm not really a fan for the same reason you mentioned. It's really dark. I love the intricacy of OUAT.

Didn't Rumple ask the Evil Queen to give him a comfortable life in Storybrooke, in exchange for help with the curse?

If the PC you're referring to is Prince Charming, he is David in Storybrooke.

Yes he did. I also think he is the one who is REALLY in charge. The puppetmaster if you will. I love his character and I find what a previous poster said about Frederick and Midas intriguing.....

I am so glad I was able to re-watch the episodes yesterday because the first time around, I missed that Regina named Henry after her father that she killed

Yes, that's right. I forgot that!

Yes, Charming is David in Storybrooke, but any idea where he went in FL? He was captured or something, right?

When the curse took over the castle, he seemed dead. I bet he wasn't but he 'appeared' dead. Snow White was holding him and the Evil Queen came with her men looking for the baby. The baby was put in the wardrobe and gone.

Then the curse took hold. So when it did, he was laying on the ground being held by Snow White.

I'm confusing myself, which is nothing new. :rotfl2: I mean Cinderellas prince. Do we know what has happened to him in FL yet? He went to get some water and was captured. I know that he is with her in Storybrooke and the baby has been born, but what about in FL? Have they showed that yet?:confused3 I know that Emma made a deal with Mr. Gold so that she could keep the baby. This will come back to bite her too.

Ah, sorry! No, we do not know yet what happened to him. He disappeared and we are to assume Rumple had something to do with it. :surfweb:

Afterall, Henry was the thing she loved the most.

Remember, in FL, Rumple told Ella that magic has a price. Rumpel told her that she would be alone wherever, whatever world she was in. In the real world, Ashley was alone and pregnant, it wasn't until Emma made the new deal with Mr. Gold that Sean/Thomas (Cinderella's prince) showed up in her life again.

Gotcha :thumbsup2 It's still bugging me that we don't know where he is in FL.

Thank you!:goodvibes

I'm trying to keep track of whose palace is whose. Did anyone else notice that the round table that PC, SW, Red, Granny, etc. were sitting around in the first episode (when the fairy came to tell them about the wardrobe) is the same round table that was in the palace where PC was introduced to Midas' daughter?

Also, my son noticed that, in the title of Henry's book (Once Upon a Time), the letters O U T are framed to stand out. It is very obvious when Regina takes the book in the first episode.

Okay, haven't read through the posts, and just skipped over to last page, so this may be repeat. But, is it just me or do the people in the fairy tale world speak with modern slang? Saying words like "sure", and things like that do not seem to fit in with that theme. Maybe I'm nitpicking.

How do pregnant women in the fairy tale world know they are having a boy or a girl or twins? Charming thought Snow was having a boy but Snow knew it was a girl and had already named her. Cinderella told Rumpel that she was having twins and that she would have that knowledge seemed credible to him.
