Sorry that's the Dis lingo kicking in. DH is dear husband, DS is dear son etc.. Yep I got your cabin number:banana: Funny I take care of two boys at school Jayden and Logan lol

Cool...I was thinking Disney husband. So yes his name is Michael. Thanks for everything. You are very helpful. Maybe someday I will become a pro also.

Love my boys names also....hope to someday have a baby girl in the near future so I can have a little princess to join us on the Disney Cruises! :flower3:

A friend of mine told me about it. I can't believe all the neat stuff I have been missing out on. Like the FE's, PALO, Cabana rentals....etc. I will definetely spread the good word.

Oh yeah does any one know about the signing of pillow cases....if so how does this work?

:tink:

We did the pillowcases the last time we sailed. We had white pillowcases embroidered by Gradysmommy on ebay, but you could use any pillowcase. We put them in a ziploc bags with a variety of fabric markers and a whole bunch of treats - chocolate and non-chocolate. It was recommended here on the boards to bring some treats for the people signing and the staff in the kids club and they were very appreciative. We dropped our pillowcases off at Guest Services the day we boarded the ship. They're obviously used to it because they had a little form to fill out asking cabin #, who you wanted to sign, etc. Ours were delivered to our cabin the last day of the cruise. I don't know if we were lucky or the candy bribe worked, but we got lots of autographs (granted I have girls so they wanted all of the princesses in addition to the standard Disney characters). It was a great keepsake from our cruise. When we're back in October, I might do the photo mat as I've seen some great pictures posted here on Dis.

I made the kids shirts that said my 1st Disney cruise and then left them there for the characters to sign..they turned out really cute!

We are newbie Disney cruisers and can't book anything until August 2nd:sad1:, I am only going to try for afternoon Tea at Palo's. Do they offer that every day of the cruise and if so what time?
Also, I have been getting all sorts of answers about what time the shuttle from our Disney hotel will pick us up to take us to the port. Anyone know that info? What time do I select for port arrival when doing online check in?
This is so different from cruises I have taken in the past.
Thank you all very much!!!!

Well, I am a newbie too so I can't answer a lot of your questions but I wanted to say hi to fellow first timer. I know there are very knowledgeable ladies on here who can answer though. I hope you get Tea at Palos! I think, from what I have read, your best bet will be trying to book it once you get onboard. I keep reading that it is booked. :confused3 Hummm...good question about what time to select for your arrival. I have read that the buses usually show up about 1pm but having never done it, I don't know. I did look into it though when we were going to fly but the airlines outpriced us so we are driving. Disney does seem to do things very differently but from what I have heard-that is a good thing. ;)

Hi everyone!

How is everyone's planning coming? I have been planning and working on this cruise like it was a full time job. LOL!! We are doing a 2 night pre-cruise stay at Coronado Springs and a 2 night post-cruise stay at Port Orleans Riverside. I'm excited about all aspects of the trip. This is our first cruise and our first MNSSHP. I bought my tixs the other day and was so excited that I am finally going to make it to a party!! My BFF is bringing her soon-to-be adopted daughter and this will be their first family vacation so I have been planning all kinds of fun things for us. I made a travel book for her with markers, crayons, puzzles, car games, etc. I am currently working on two Mickey's Grand Welcomes for the pre-cruise stay too. I have a Tinkerbell one for her and a Mickey for my 9 yr old. I am also making t-shirts-two for the cruise and one for MNSSHP. Then I am also working on the FE gifts and door magnets. I have been having a ball with all of it knowing that it should make thier little girls trip extra special. :wizard:

I can't believe we are finally getting to our 75 day mark!!! I can't wait to book my port adventure! We are only doing one in Nassau but that should be plenty for us first timers who are going to be overwelmed and excited by the ship alone. :upsidedow

This really is going to be a dream trip. :goodvibes

We are staying at the Coronado but hoping that some discounts will appear for October so we can move to the Poly. Either way it will be fun.

I'm guessing from your screen name the twins are girls :) My daughters will be happy to play if they want.

I am terrified that we won't be able to book anything because we are first time Disney cruisers :sad2:. Plus, our hotel is dropping us at the port at a specific time so if that time slot is not available when we get to sign up on 8/2/11 I am unsure of what we are to do. I supposed to just sit there and wait!! I will have to call Disney to find out.

I really want to go to Palo on my anniversary (10/16) but we'll see how that goes!

DCL only allows about 50% of Palo reservations to be done online. If you cannot get a reservation online. The minute you board the ship do not go to the lunch buffet but to the room (normally one of the night clubs) and make your Palo reservation.

Just an FYI - If you book Palo on the 16th you will miss on of the themed restaurant. Nights 3 and 4 are in the same restaurant.

The port times that people are choosing during check-in are just times that they are arriving at the port. It does not mean that they will board the ship at that time. But yes the earlier you get to the port most like you get one of the first numbers to board the ship.

Good luck with your reservations :)

Our anniversary is Oct 18th and we were able to get Palo reservations.

Oh great.....what a great idea leaving some treats! I bought to baby blue pillowcases and I thought I would have them embroided with our last name as well as Disney Dream and the year.....it would be a nice keepsake! I haven't seen the photo mat...would love for you to share a photo if you find one.
Thanks

We had pillowcases signed with Sharpees and they ran all over the pillowcase. I suggest fabric markers if you are going that route.

We did the photo mats on our first cruise those turned out nice!!

Is anyone going to the Halloween party on the 20th? If so are you going in costume?

I've just had an email off my TA - Dreams Unlimited - she has requested the rotation that gives me two nights in Animators - we've researched the menus and this looks our favourite and I hope it means we get two lots of Crush also! It is only a request, but each time we've requested it has been granted.

Well I just got a big Oriental Trading Co. catalogue in the mail:banana: Hopefully I won't go crazy. One of my gifts involves something from either Michael's or Jo Ann fabrics. That's all the info you are getting!

Hi Chrissy
Thanks for the tip...will get fabric markers. We are going to the MNSSHP but on the 13th the day of our arrival at BLT. We will spend three days in Disney before setting sail on the Dream. Have you been before? We always dress in costumes and we enjoy so much going trick or treating in the MK. Also if you trick or treat in tommorow land there are a lot of candy stations along the side of the railroad tracks. JSut look for the big Mickey blow up balloon. It's also fun to enter the park right at 7 because they play the haunted mansion muisc and smoke the entrance way.....great photo opportuntiy as well. ENJOY!!!! pirate:

Do you know you can get in from 4pm on your MNSSHP ticket? We always take full advantage and get in for 4pm:banana:

Yes we usually book dining at crystal palace around 4 then go on few rides then trick or treat. We have been so many times for MNSSHP that we usually enjoy the pool and relax during the day and party all night...LOL Sometimes when we go early I walk back out to the entrance to see all the decor...LOL!!!

My boys first cruise was on Carnival Dream. We had a blast and the boys really enjoyed Camp Carnival and so did my husband and I...lol.:):)

WHOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!...............so glad to be on the cruise meet list!!!!
