DCL only allows about 50% of Palo reservations to be done online. If you cannot get a reservation online. The minute you board the ship do not go to the lunch buffet but to the room (normally one of the night clubs) and make your Palo reservation.

Just an FYI - If you book Palo on the 16th you will miss on of the themed restaurant. Nights 3 and 4 are in the same restaurant.

The port times that people are choosing during check-in are just times that they are arriving at the port. It does not mean that they will board the ship at that time. But yes the earlier you get to the port most like you get one of the first numbers to board the ship.

Good luck with your reservations :)

Our anniversary is Oct 18th and we were able to get Palo reservations.

Thank you for the advice :)! I guess we may try for the 3rd or 4th night then but I venture to say those are the ones that will fill up the fastest! I have to tell you I am a little dissapointed on how Disney does things here. First time cruisers would be happier if they were allowed to do things they wanted to instead of getting the "slim pickings". But, I do understand the "loyalty" program :)

Hi everyone!

How is everyone's planning coming? I have been planning and working on this cruise like it was a full time job. LOL!! We are doing a 2 night pre-cruise stay at Coronado Springs and a 2 night post-cruise stay at Port Orleans Riverside. I'm excited about all aspects of the trip. This is our first cruise and our first MNSSHP. I bought my tixs the other day and was so excited that I am finally going to make it to a party!! My BFF is bringing her soon-to-be adopted daughter and this will be their first family vacation so I have been planning all kinds of fun things for us. I made a travel book for her with markers, crayons, puzzles, car games, etc. I am currently working on two Mickey's Grand Welcomes for the pre-cruise stay too. I have a Tinkerbell one for her and a Mickey for my 9 yr old. I am also making t-shirts-two for the cruise and one for MNSSHP. Then I am also working on the FE gifts and door magnets. I have been having a ball with all of it knowing that it should make thier little girls trip extra special. :wizard:

I can't believe we are finally getting to our 75 day mark!!! I can't wait to book my port adventure! We are only doing one in Nassau but that should be plenty for us first timers who are going to be overwelmed and excited by the ship alone. :upsidedow

This really is going to be a dream trip. :goodvibes

Sounds like your on a roll. My magnets and FE are coming along. What night are you going to the Halloween party? We are goiong on the 13th...meeting some friend of ours in the park.......can't wait! Keep up the great ideas!!!:yay:

Did anyone book a room at Atlantis or the comfort inn while we are in NAS. We did so we can go to the water park. Been before and the kids loved it!

Also, is the tea at Palo's more for girls.....LOL I have two boys and not sure if they would want to experience this or not. They are 4 and 7?????
Thanks
Carol

I feel so far behind! We are using our FE from last cruise but I have to make FE gifts yet and new magnets for us and my in-laws!:goodvibes Not sure yet if we are doing the MNSSHP yet or not!

Me too...I joined the disboards just the other day. I know what you mean. I would never have time for all the gifts for the inlaws as well. They are just coming because they love to see the grandkids in action. It's tough because I run a business and my husband travels often. Any free time I have I am making door magnets or looking for great gift ideas....:)

Can anyone tell me a little bit about the pirate night. I heard it's a really big deal. Do the boys get pirate items or do I need to bring my own stuff for them.....thanks. I am having pirate Mickey shirts made for them.
Carol

Can anyone give some examples of adult gift that they were given in the past. I want to give something really neat!

Hi everyone!

How is everyone's planning coming?
This really is going to be a dream trip. :goodvibes

I think I'm finally done tweaking our plan. Finally! Here it is:

3 nights at Disney (to include the haunted hayride at FW and MNSSHP on the 11th - both surprises for the kids)

3 nights at US/IOA

CRUISE!!

3 nights at Disney

We're doing the DxDP/DDP for a few nights. So, between that and the cruise I'll probably be up a pant size when I return home. :upsidedow

They provide pirate bandanas at dinner. pirate: You could certainly bring stuff from home though. The shirts sound cute!

I though Palos was just for adults? I do not think kids are allowed. They do have an Alice tea party on the boat for kids you have to sign up on there.

We did Comfort Suites last time. The cost has gone up so I am hoping to get a lower rate or we will pass this year.

We would LOVE to do Atlantis but we can't afford it.
Thinking if money allows we will do the Sheraton day pass as it gets rave reviews on cruisecritic.com :goodvibes

Our schedule so far:
Leave on Oct. 8, stay over 1 night in NC
Oct. 9th arrive at Indian Creek pool home on the 9th.
Oct. 10-13th...still up in air depending on finances(maybe doing MNSSHP), visiting nephew and family 1 of those days
Oct. 14th- Swim w/Manatees(already booked and paid for)
Oct. 15th- pack up
Oct. 16-20th- cruise
Oct.20-21- stay 1 night in St. Augustine/Palm Coast
Oct. 21- stay over in NC or VA
Oct. 22nd- drive home, stopping at Skyline Caverns in VA along the way

We had pillowcases signed with Sharpees and they ran all over the pillowcase. I suggest fabric markers if you are going that route.

We did the photo mats on our first cruise those turned out nice!!

Is anyone going to the Halloween party on the 20th? If so are you going in costume?

Thanks for the hint on the fabric markers! We're going to do the pillowcases so this helps a lot!

We're doing a photo mat too. ;)

We're going to the party on the 20th but not dressing up in costumes. Well, we're going to wear t-shirts and my 9 yr old might wear a costume, he's not sure about it yet. The family that is traveling with us will be in costume though. :)

I love that FE thread. I am handmaking little girls and adults. I am on the fence about what I am going to make for boys.

I LOVE your plans. I really want to get to US/IOA one of these days. Maybe next visit (I keep saying that LOL)?

I love the DXDP. I love that you don't really have to worry about where you eat b/c it's all covered-either TS or CS. That's my favorite aspect of the DXDP. :)

Right now we have the glassbottom boat booked through Disney but we were also thinking of doing the Sheraton day pass. If we do the glassbottom boat we might find a free beach to go to after.
