We were on the Fantasy in June. On Formal night, we came across the Captain's reception when walking through the atrium after dinner on our way to the theater to see Aladdin. Grabbed a fruity cocktail from a cast member holding a tray of drinks and kept walking. No idea what I drank, but it was tasty and free. I did see glasses of wine as well, and they usually have something nonalcoholic. I did see a bunch of officers in their white uniforms that you could meet...but we were just passing through.
Can anyone else who has been on a recent Fantasy cruise please comment if they are still having the Captain’s Reception in the Atrium on Formal Night? Thank you.

Yes, they had several CMs walking around with free drinks. Don't recall seeing the captain but he was probably there, but there were def free drinks, photos from the photography team, live music, etc.
I think the Captain's Reception is back on all the cruises. We had it last week on the Magic (selection of beer, wine, mixed drinks and juice).
Also had a Gold/Plat/Pearl reception since it was an 8-night (drinks, behind the scenes, rice krispy treats).
The Captain’s Reception is offered two times on one night to accommodate both dinner seatings. You are not limited to one or just the one before your dinner.
That's good to hear as we are sailing her in a couple months on the Iceland itinerary. Let us know how the reception went. Is the internet working well onboard?

We weren’t invited to the CC reception, which is why we received the gift basket and the apology.
I bought the mid price WiFi for cruise duration, and especially at nights, my iPad tells me, no Internet connection. So, it has been frustrating at times.
That’s what they have been for a while though right? Didn’t they offer them on all cruises 24 years ago? So the Dream never had one then? Maybe they have sailed a few 7 day cruises by now though.
