Onboard Booking Reinstatement

Just returned from a 7 night cruise, got a quote to rebook for the next trip in 2005 and tried to rebook on last day on cruise but the agent was super busy. So we just gave up.

Three days after our cruise I call DCL and told them what happened, the CM ask me for our reservation number from the quote onboard and reinstated our reservation with the 10% discount and $200.00 onboard credit. She even extended the reservation for 3 days so I can have a chance to discuss it with my DH.

Is this the normal? Can I count on this the next time? Has someone else done this before. I know I should have ask the CM these questions but I was too happy at that moment to think about any else. Just want to know so I don't have to worry about paying the deposit onboard and spend my time waiting in line at the reservation desk.


PS. I have to retrieve our quote from DCL from the garbage to get the reservation number but it was definitely worth it.

We had the same problem with reservations on 11/1. Donna who usually does rebookings got off the ship the day we got on and Doyle was taking her place. He assured us that he knew what he was doing and was changing the way Donna does things to be more efficient. When we rebooked with Donna we had our confirmation the next day. It took Doyle 5 days and many phone calls to finally get the confirmation letter to us. It was under our door at 7:00AM on the morning we disembarked.
Rebooking was the most frustrating part of my cruise.

Our quote letter said that the price was good until a date which was a week after we got off the ship. Doyle told us that the price would expire the morning we got off the ship but the quote letters said otherwise. I wouldn't assume that the way things are being done now is the way it would be done in the future. Next time check the date listed on the quote to be sure if you can wait until your home to decide to rebook.

Has Donna left for good? She has done re-bookings for us twice now and was absolutely great.

I was on the Magic recently and rebooked. I had to wait an hour in line. Is wasn't all DCL's fault, one couple ahead of me took like 30 minutes, changing their dates several times, asking about the weather, hurricane patterns etc.

After I booked I know have found out the agent in training (sorry I forget her hame - she has black hair), fumbled our reservation and gave it to the wrong travel agent. Now I'm trying to retreive it.

Personally, I'd rather just log in at the internet cafe to rebook (if I could get the $200 credit)

When people go to Donna - they sometimes have NO idea what it's all about - so they have to go through the entire year of their schedule, then talk about ports, staterooms and often when it's all said and done, they think about cost.

I waited a long time once just to book something I already had planned - but the two couples in front of me were "lost souls". Was I upset? Heck no! I had a book with me and I read - it was relaxing.

Believe that and I have a bridge to sell you....

Can you book for 2 adults and pay the deposit and then 6 months from now add the teenagers? Dont know for sure if they will be with us on next cruise.

Disneykins, that's exactly how we booked our August cruise.

Just make certain that you get a room that can hold 4 if you think that you might have two more.

One other consideration, if your children are under 18, there has to be room in the teen activity group for them when you decide to add them.
