Onboard booking question...

on our upcoming 10/5 cruise, we were planning on booking 9/4/04 Eastern cruise to take advantage of $400.00 stateroom credit promo...

My question is: For those of you who have booked onboard, then transferred your reservation to a TA, was your TA able to discount the existing reservation further, or did TA have to adhere to the DCL pricing you received?

This is an important consideration for us, since my TA (a Cruiseone agent I've used for years) usually saves us $hundreds vs the best DCL pricing...even with $400.00 credit, it may not be worth booking with DCL...

We booked, got the onboard credit, then flipped the reservation to a travel agent (All Seas in our case) but all will accept them and we got a better price yet.
We intend to do that on our Eastern and book a Western for 2005.

We were planning on doing the same...do you know if the offer still stands for $400? That is better than I'd heard the previous offer.
I am new at this onboard booking, so tell me, are you saying I can book thru DCL and then flip the ressie to a TA (all seas) and get the travel agent discount even though I booked thru DCL?
I am so confused!

We just got off the magic...this time it is a $200 credit and 10% off booking fee.

I stand to be corrected but I believe the $400 credit was just for the "experimental" Eastern itinerary that takes in St Juan etc...

The $400.00 credit was for the 5 special Eastern cruise dates next August 7 and 21, September 4 and 18, and October 2, 2004. We booked for 8-21-04, while on our 8-23-03 cruise, and received the $400.00 stateroom credit and a 10% booking credit as well.

...but my question is still whether or not I can keep the $400.00 promo credit if my TA further discounts the res I make onboard?Or, must he adhere to the pricing I received by DCL???

I just booked one of those cruises onboard a couple days ago and asked about the $400 credit (for 9.18.04) and was told that they are now only offering $200 credit and 10% off cost (and the cost was a little higher than it was before I went onboard). Still it was and OK deal (not as good as I had hoped).

The $400 shipboard credit ended. It was not offered on our cruise on September 6th (ended the week before)

But to answer your question, YES you would keep the credit even though you are transfering the reservation.
