On the FP Hunt

I’ve been testing out making FPs, trying to determine how easy or hard it’s going to be to get the 4+ FPs I want. I was trying to see how hard it will be to get EE around noon today. I refreshed and refreshed and refreshed. Nothing for a party of 3. Nothing. Not a single one. FOP came up 3x and Navi came up 2 in probably 15-ish minutes of trying to get EE (party of 3 in all cases). Huh? But no EE? How does that make sense?

I need to start thinking about what I should sacrifice to the FP gods. Hmmm.

I swore the refresh thing was never going to work for me...
I had a FOP FP for 4pm on the day we fly out & need to be back at our resort for 3pm.

But low and behold, the sky opened up, sun shined down, angels sang, harps strung....
And there it was -

FOP 9:45am

LOL...anyway, my point is - don’t give up. Maybe even get the 3 that you can and work on the 4th. I set an alarm on my phone every day to check & it finally paid off.

We’ll roll with the punches on the 4+ FPs. I just found it funny that a couple of weeks ago when I was trying to get FOP to come up it absolutely wouldn’t (but I saw EE all the time). When I’m trying for EE, up comes FOP and EE won’t pop. Has similar bizarreness last night when TT and Soarin came up many times but Mission Space was elusive. There is just no telling how it’s going to play out.

I somewhat believe EE may be more of a repeat ride than the others. Many people like roller coasters; they want the thrill of it.

I've only done FOP and Na'vi once and I will probably do each one a few more times. With EE I've done that roller coaster at least a dozen times and will continue to do it every time we go there.

My guess would be that EE was down or had been down and was backed up.

That’s what I thought at first too so I checked it and it was showing a 60 min wait which doesn’t seem abnormally backed up. I could see them suspending FP changes when a ride goes down. Maybe it was down earlier and they don’t want to allow FP changes since people will have any time FPs. I don’t know.

Don't forget the single rider line at EE, depending on the make up of your party this could be an option. We find its usually a short, fast moving line and you really can't talk to each other on this ride anyway so we use it a few times each trip instead of or in addition to a FP+.

That might be an option if the 5 yo decides he doesn’t want to go. That could go either way. Thanks for the reminder.
