On-line checkin for Canadians?

When we last went to WDW in April I tried to do an online check-in but was unsuccessful. I called the support number and was told that online check-ins could only be done for reservations made by people in the U.S. This was the last of several reasons we were given why it didn't work so I'm skeptical about the reason.

So my question is whether or not anyone in Canada has ever been able to successfully do an online check-in. I'm going again next month and would really like to use this service if I can.

What airline was your flight with?

I live in Mississauga and for the past 5 years or so I have only taken flights out for Buffalo on either Southwest or Jetblue. I have done an online check in for every one of these flights without any issue. Its usually 24hr before the flight is set to depart.

Not sure why you had this problem or why they would tell you its because your from "canada" and only americans can use this service because I have everytime.

I should clarify... it wasn't the airline online check-in. It was for the Disney resort online check-in.

We were at Disney in September of this year and had no issues with the online resort check-in. I highly recommend it as it saves a lot of time.

We were able to check-in online prior to our September 23/09 arrival at Pop Century. The travel office at our local CAA had booked the trip for us; but we were able to use the reservation number to check-in online ourselves (about a week or so in advance of our arrival). The check-in package (map, info, etc.) was waiting at the desk for us and we didn't wait more than five minutes, it was wonderful.
I sure hope you are able to utilize the service, hope, too that you have a fantastic trip.

I did online check in about 3 days before we arrived at CSR on Oct. 3. When we got to the hotel our package with our KTTW cards was ready. It was simple and easy to do.

Can I ask, when you arrived at your hotel, does the on line check in mean you do not have to stand in that huge line up?? If so where do you get your package from with your keys etc...?

When you get to the hotel, there is a separate line for online checkins. In theory, the line should be shorter. In our case at CSR, we were the only ones in that line, although there were very few in the other line too. You will get your package and KTTW card there and it should be ready and waiting for you.

At Pop Century, there was a specific line that said On-Line Check-In Here, walked right up and picked up the package. The "regular" check in line was to the right and there were quite a few people waiting. This was all at the usual counter, just watch for the sign indicating On-Line Check-In. Hope this helps.

I hadn't realized this was so helpful - we were there in May and it took a while to get all the KTTW etc. This will be great so we can hit the parks faster - thanks for asking about it!

We have done online resort check in 3 times since its inception. It's based on resort reservation numbers and has nothing to do with where you reside. It's odd that they would even say that.

I think the best thing to do would be to confirm your reservation number.
