On-line Booking

Hi Everyone: Is there any reason why DVC hasn't gone to on-line booking rather than having to telephone? It seems that the technology is there and the conveience would be great. Thanks
 
Don't hold your breath. They've been saying for years now that they are going to have internet access, beginning first with just the capability to check resort availability and eventually be able to do more than that.

Nothing yet.

Of course they do have the reservation request you can make using the member's website, or you can e-mail, but both of these are simply requests that requires a CM to get back to you. Neither is any type of on-line booking such as you can do for many hotels, car rentals, airline tickets, etc.
 
I'd suggest that everyone make sure to register their e-mail address with DVC. This has been emphasized over the past couple of years.

If the response to that registration has not been representative of the membership, it is likely to be used as an indicator to DVC of true interest in online account availability.

With about 70,000 members- a significant number will have to indicate a desire for this availability or the present system will likely be the only option available. A cost savings will have to be evident before an online system is likely to be reality.
