So I am sitting next to the window in my room at Royal drinking a nice cup of hot choclate (thanks to everybody telling me it is free!) Typing up the first day trip report on my cell phone (sorry about typos).

Went left this morning at at 7am from Houston and after a short delay, we made it to orlando around 2pm. We then had a great experience using FLtours.com for our trip to the hotel. They did a stop to allow us to pick up a throw away cooler and some drinks (another thing ilaerned about on these forums). We got to the hotel around 3:30 and our king suite was ready for us. Like always, this hotel has AMAZING service!! No line to check in, bags arrived at the room about 5 minutes after we called and he even filled up our cooler with ice for us.

We headed to IOA after a short afternoon storm, and the park was DEAD! Even HP FJ only had a 30 minute wait around 6. Of course express is still just as amazing as the last trip. We left the park around 7:30 and enjoyed a great meal at the hotel restaurant Jakes. Tomorrow we plan on spending most of the day at the Studios.

I hope to post an update each day, but it can be a pain on this phone. When we get back on the 22nd, I will fix any typos and add more details.

Personal Butterbeer Count : 1

(It was my first time trying frozen, and I did not like it at all.)

i feel special............:rolleyes1

and i like the frozen bb...

The afternoon storms are a part of life now that summer is here. I've had pretty bad storms at the house the past two nights with the thunder waking me up both nights.

It's still hot this week although its only supposed to get to 92 by the weekend. ;)

I like the frozen Butterbeer too.

I'm in for the report. I like this live approach. :)

Free hot chocolate? Wait a minute, I saw free and didn't think! I mean, hot chocolate? At this time of year?

How awesome is the live trip report! I think when we go I'll do it too!
We'll be in a king suite at the RPR too! So, do tell how I can get free
Hot chocolate! Yum! I'm in for the get go!:goodvibes

lol, there is a Keurig coffee maker in the room with hot chocolate pods. Just pop in the pod, add water and press the button and presto!!!!

Well, today was a busy day! Woke up around 7 and left the room to get to the Studios at opening. They let us in around 20 minutes early and I headed right to Rip Ride Rockit. About 10 cars with people left the station and I was next to board when the ride broke down. So, I head to Mummy and rode it waiting for rockit to open again. After mummy was shrek, and once again, first in line to get into the preshow and shrek breaks down! The TM said this is very rare for shrek. I think it was just me because MIB, Jaws, and HP also had problems right before I boarded. Jaws was having some big issues. Out of the three main sharks, two did not work!

Anyways, the Studios was dead today. Everybody seemed to go to IOA this morning, becuase when we were leaving the Studios, the park was starting to get busy and when getting into IOA, a lot of people were leaving. However, HP was really busy around 6 which was when it was empty yesterday.

Once we were leaving IOA, it started to rain and lighting, so the boats were not going. By the time we got to the hotel, the boats were going again. It was just not my day today, nothing wanted to work.or run when I wanted on it.

Before I end todays report, I wanted to talk about the room and clear up a rumor about Spiderman. First, while the King Suite is nice, the pull out sofa bed is NOT. I do not suggest a family getting this room for the kids to sleep on the pull out. It is about an inch thick and is nothing but hard metal springs. It is also very short, which makes it hard for me to sleep in (I am 6 ft tall). Stick with a standard room or get a family suite.

Now on to Spiderman! I can confirm the rumor about new projectors in some of the scenes. The first time to see the water guy in what seems to be the sewers is a new projector for sure. It does not appear to be a new piece of film, but the image looks better (more clear, sharper colors). This scene sticks out, but some other scenes appears to use new projectors as well, but it is harder to tell. Overall, this trip is by far the best for Spiderman. Every single effect (some I never knew about) was working.

Oh, and before I end this for the day, I want to mention that the whole resort appears to be going under a paint job. At the Studios, they are working on the buildings around T2 3D and at IOA, they are working on Suess.

I am glad you guys enjoy this "live" trip report. I will try and have one posted each day before 11pm FL time.

Personal Butterbeer Count: 3 (trip total, not daily)

Sorry that your day didn't go as planned. I have had many days like that when every thing I touch just doesn't work out. Hopefully tomorrow every thing will be working and you will have a easier time.

Ugh, I've had those days too and it seems like at every themepark! Hopefully, things will go smoothly tomorrow.

Hey, you're leaving out the dining!

i'm glad you surfaced and posted.

i was going to wait until midnight for you .....

if you hadn't posted by then, i was gonna call the hotel and ask to be connected to your room.

of course, i would ask for Mr Badge from Houston as that is the only identity i know about you......

Enjoying the Live Reporting so far.

What exactly are they working on in Seuss? Are they just painting the area's coloUrs around the lagoon? They were doing that at this time last year when I was there, I guess it needs touching up every now and then due to weather wear and tear.

Woah!!!! You broke Shrek!!! lol, you sound like a cartoon where everything breaks before you get to it.

Regarding the cameras...the new technology will only use one camera instead of two with completely different glasses. So while we are still wearing the cheap glasses, the new technology isn't been used the way it will in the end.

dr. seuss's widow controls all that goes on in seussland.
she makes sure it is kept up and painted as needed.
sometimes you will see that happening in that section yearly.

it is a brightly colored section of ioa with many thanks to the 'mrs seuss'...
