We are a family of four on FD for our first time on the dining plan. My question is how the credits are allocated and used up. If I go to pick up a snack for all four of us do I need to to take all 4 keys with me and have 4 transactions? I am trying to understand if all credits are available on each key or does each key only have 1/4th of the total credits. Do I need to track how many credits are used on each key? One more question...my DD and DW would like to do more TS meals while my DS wants to do CS to have more time for rides and not sit around for TS. Can my DD use more than 1/4 of the TS credits as long as we don't exceed the total TS credits? Thanks.

All of your credits will be on all of the cards. This means you can use one card to "pay" for all of your meals. You can use the credits however and whenever you wish. Just be aware that the maximum amount of meals you may order at one time will be 4 and they must be what is listed on the card. So if you have 2 adults and 2 kids, for instance, you cannot go through the line and order 3 adult meals. Does that make sense? Your receipt will indicate the number of credits remaining for your party as a whole. If any of the kids are 10 or older, they are considered adults on the plan.

Thanks! Both of my kids are considered adults by Disney so we will not have any issues with that. But it is good to know that we have flexibility to use the TS credits for my DD more so than DS and not have a problem. I have to say that we have always taken the RO discount for our resort since we normally stay at MK resorts and paid OOP for meals. Planning ADRs for every day hasn't been that fun but I hope when we return from our trip we will feel that we had enough flexibility to enjoy our trip as much as we have in the past.

BTW...will I have a problem if we reserved a party of 4 and secured by cc and only 2 show up? I don't want a $20 fee but the system will not let me book a party of 2 even though i already have a party of 4 to cancel.

As long as some show up for the reservation, you will not be charged. From the disneyworld website:

I have a dinner reservation for 10 Guests at a restaurant that uses the credit card guarantee policy. Only 8 Guests are able to make it to dinner. Will I still be charged $10 each for the 2 Guests who were unable to attend?

No. As long as you honor the reservation, then there will be no charge to your credit card.
