The wrist bands also have the parents pager #'s on them. When staff from guest services or the kids club enter the # on the childs bracelet the parents names, room number and pager #'s are displayed.

I was just thinking that without any charging privelages, I will be running myself ragged every time one of my 6 kids wants something. My sister gave each kid $20.00 in Disney dollars for Christmas and my 11 yr old offered to stop having his hot lunch allowance to help pay for the cruise. That was such a generous thought that I told him he could "save" what I would normally give him for hot lunch ( I let them buy once a week) and if he didn't buy hot lunch until the cruise he would have that much money to spend on himself. I currently have a log book of how much I owe each kid.
Is there a minimum age for charging? my 8 yr old is wise beyond her years and is looking forward to the responsibilty of keeping track of her funds. She will be 9 at the time of the cruise.
Also how do I apply the disney dollars to the accounts? Do I have to wait until they spend the money and then apply it to our account? Can they use Disney Dollars on Castaway Cay? Thanks in advance. Melissa

There is no minimum age for charging.

The kids will either be granted charging privileges or not by the adult in charge of them. (i.e. parent or guardian or grandparent.)

The only place to use Disney Dollars on a cruise - is at guest services. Everything else must get charged on your KTTW card (Key to the World).

They can't use Disney Dollars on Castaway Cay.

The Disney Dollars can be applied at any time at Guest Services.

Thank you for answering my questions so fast! So can they use their KTTW card at Castaway Cay then? I think I will just settle up with them nightly since they all are saving like fiends. Last vacation my youngest wanted to have $100 to spend and she sold lemonade all summer to get it. They can be ambitious when they want something. Thanks again for the replies..Melissa
