OK I have never ever rented a car, my wife and I do not believe in credit cards so heres my ?, I would like to pay for my rental in cash, I have an atm visa with a $500.00 daily limit. If I give them that for the deposit they will put a hold on it for the amount they want correct? Will that just be one days limit or will it be held up the whole trip? Don't really wan that tho case of an emergency. ANother option I have is using my corporate cc, I just don't want a charge on it but don't care if there is a hold placed against it. Will paying cash and using my corp card to secure work ok without putting a charge on it?

Most rental companies will let you use the credit card at the beginning of the rental and allow you to pay cash at the end. You would have to return to the rental counter to take care of it. Best thing to do would be call the car rental company you want to use.

I always rent a car, hold it with a credit card then pay in cash at the end. You have to go to the counter to square up after returning the car. So allow extra time for that. Ive never had a problem paying cash. For your own peace of mind, double check with your rental car agency.
