OK this is one of those "I thought I would never post a question like this" questions.

My sons, if the Pitt football team can keep it together, will be playing in the Fiesta Bowl. Yea unranked but thats the way the BCS works.

We are in Pittsburgh and we can either fly or drive 36 hours:scared1:.

Am I SOL when it comes to getting a flight for less that $400 a piece?

The two issues I see are the short notice and Holiday season. I checked price line and came up with maybe a $430 fare. I went to SW and it was like $350 per one way flight. Also we can't book until like December 6.

We would want to be there December 30 and would leave Sunday Jan 2.

Any hope?

Oh and before you ask, yes my sons play for the football team ...

and everyone else in the stands. Their two positions are Baritone and Trumpet. :goodvibes

Unfortunately booking a last minute ticket is usually very expensive and even more so at holiday times. Just think of it as a once in a lifetime event and bite the bullet.

I'm hoping that the school will put together something of a package.

But the thing is we don't need a hotel sine my inlaws know people there with a condo.

We will most likely drive anyway, my wife is not to keen to flying. We don't fly much and she had a bad flight last time due to some illness issues.

Oh by the way did I tell you we are going with my inlaws. So at least its four drivers and we can split up the two 16 hour days.

I think I would find a way to fly. Especially if it is 36 hours both ways. Good luck with your travel plans.
