Our home resort is BWV with 150 pts and a June use year. If we were to add on at BLT with 50 pts, those pts would also have a June use year, if I understand correctly.

When we are making ressies, what happens with the 11 and 7 month windows. If we wanted to use all of our 200 pts at BLT, can we book at 11 months? Or can we only book 50 pts at 11 months, and the other 150 at 7 months? How does this work?

Add-ons direct from Disney would have the same UY. You can only combine points from multiple resorts at the 7 month window.

Points always retain their stripes: only BLT points can be used 11 months out at BLT, only BWV points can be used 11 months out at BWV, etc. You can mix them only at 7 months. Reason: consider what could happen to the home resort advantage at BLT if members from other resorts could buy an add-on at BLT and then mix all their points at 11 months out -- the more than 30,000 members from SSR would buy a 25 point add-on at BLT and suddenly all of them could use their SSR points at 11 months out at BLT effectively ending any 11 month advantage a BLT owner would have.

I thought this would be the case, but wanted to make sure. So I could book the 50 pts at BLT at the 11 month window, then try to get add'l nights at BLT at the 7 month window using our BWV pts, correct?

or you could bank and borrow BLT pts to use 150 pts to book BLT at 11 months every third year.

I had been wondering how the add-ons worked when it came to booking and hadn't been able to find answers anywhere.
You question was well timed for me.

The home resort booking window is from 11 months to 7 months plus 1 day from check in. If you want to book in that window you must use home resort points (BLT points at BLT, SSR points at SSR, etc.) If you want to book a stay with non-home resort points (SSR points at BLT) then you have to wait until 7 months from check in to book those nights.

Many of us have purchased enough points at more than one resort so that we can book a stay at 11 months out every other year by banking the points in alternate years. For example, I have a 100-pt add-on at VWL. I bank the points every other year, giving me 200 points to use there every other year. That's enough points for a 1BR for 7 nights in Dec or for 6 nights in May.
