Omgosh! The Crowds!

how in the heck do people get stuff from dream makers all the time? we've never been given anything at disneyland or on our trip to wdw. i've never even seen these so-called "dream makers." what do they ever look like?

We hadn't received any dreams until just recently. During our trip to WDW last Sept., we didn't even see one dream given out! :confused3 And we were there for about 10 days. :confused3

We're APH at Dland and the first Dream we finally received was Jan. 30, 2008. Of course, part of the problem with going to DLR is that we don't usually arrive early. That seems to make a difference.

And yes, it's when they are wearing their white vests that they are giving out dreams. We talked to one several visits ago and she was very nice but wasn't wearing her white vest. She did give us Honorary Citizne buttons which was nice even though I beleive you can get them for the asking at Guest Services.

Oh, and they also are carrying large black bags to carry their dreams in. Not sure if the ones giving out the bigger ones do, but the Dream Fast Passes, hats, etc. do.

Hopefully you'll get one soon, personally, I had just about given up!

I saw a zillion people today with either Dream ears, fastpasses, or some sort of special tag around their neck... but never once saw the Dream Team who gave them out! I was there from open till 8 pm tonight, in both parks, and at DL yesterday... not to mention all my regular trips, have never once seen these people. Just my sorta luck I suppose! I was looking for them HARD today but never even saw a hint of them, other than it seemed like everyone else had a Dream reward but us!

That's okay, we still had a great time!

 Oh nooooo!! We are going the 23rd-28th! Hope the crowds are better then!!

The weekend might be an issue as that is the last couple days of mid-winter break for a lot of school districts. Hopefully, people will be on their way home by then, though.

SUCKED!
We were so bummed. The lines were so long that we only wound up going on TOT! Then went over to DL and it was just as bad. We ended up ending our day and coming home early. The kids didn't have any fun today at all! I think the best part of our day was Rainforest Cafe and the ride home.
Good luck to all of you still there braving the crowds!

I know, right? :confused3 I've never seen one, much less gotten anything from them. :sad2:

So how long were the lines/wait times? Were you unable to get any fastpasses?

The only time the park is completely NOT enjoyable for me is when it is at capacity and the close it. It's impossible to even walk around on days like that. But if the lines are super long and I don't want to wait...there are still plenty of fun things to do in the park.

We are going this weekend and were planning on 2 days in the parks. Now, I'm reconsidering.......do you think it will be so crowded that we should add a 3rd day? We are there Thurs. (shorter hours) thru Sun. We had planned Fri. at DL and Sun. at DCA. We need one day for Legolad. These crowds have me really worried!!:headache:

Hmmm...currently our first day in the parks would be Sunday the 24th. I was planning on doing DCA that day and seeing the Electrical parade that night. We would be leaving to come home on Friday the 29th. Maybe I should bump everything by a day and not go to the parks on Sunday and go see the Electrical parade Friday night (the 29th). I wonder if that would be better?? Any thoughts?

I, too, am going on thursday (2 more days!! yay) and I hope, HOPE that it will have less crowds. We are also going Friday and I am already preparing that day as more crowded. I just hope Thursday will have little crowds because it's my birthday and I don't want to not be able to do the things and ride the rides I wanted. :confused3

I have to say this time frame of Lincoln's Birthday weekend was probably the most packed trip I have done at DL (this was two years ago btw). More so even than when we have been in the summer, . When we went this time frame in 2006, we stayed from Thursday night to Tuesday morning. I remember that Friday being fine, Saturday was packed and Sunday and Monday were insane. It was also unseasonably warm so that brought the locals (who had a four day weekend from area schools) in droves. I have been other times in February with low crowds and it was wonderful. Anytime you have warm weather, school holidays and AP's that aren't blacked out much if at all, its going to be crowded.

We still had fun but I will never go that weekend again unless I stay onsite. That trip we were offsite and with AP's had no Early Entry (now called Magic Mornings). So that was a bummer. I had no idea that was a four day weekend for sSo. Cal schools so it was a bit of a shock. Sounds like others have experienced the same type of thing. Still a crowded day at DL is better than a quiet day at home!

You should be okay because it's not President's Day Weekend. If you were going THIS coming weekend, I'd say Plan B... but with starting on the 24th, you should have a great time. 24-29th should be great days. Anytime you can plan a week of weekdays there, you're bound to have some slow days unless of course it's July!! :rotfl:

Enjoy! I love a longer, more leisurely trip where you can really savor the magic...:wizard:

Hrm, we are going next week (20th - 23rd) and now you have me wondering on crowds. I had thought we picked a "slower" (relatively speaking) time to go.

Thank you....you made me feel better!

I'd say the beautiful weather we're having probably is affecting the crowds more than anything! It's not that often it's in the mid 80's in February! :sunny:

Yeah. It will be very crowded. President's Day Weekend is always busy. My school district has the whole week off and so do a lot of others. That whole week can get pretty crazy.

I went two years ago over presidents day weekend because my mom came into town to visit. I don't recall it being slow but I also don't remember it being super crowded.

And oddly enough last year it wasn't too bad over Labor Day weekend either.

So who knows. You could luck out.

I am avoiding this weekend because, as others have pointed out, CA schools have multiple days off for President's Day. Our schools are out this Friday 2/15 and Monday 2/18.
