Omgosh! The Crowds!

I agree - CRAZY CRAZY CROWDED today. I had no idea I would face these kinds of crowds in February. I thought I planned for a good low-crowd time. I've learned my lesson.

Here are the things that really surprised me:

30 minute que for Pooh -- FOR POOH!!

Soarin was out of Fastpasses by 3 pm

I had to wait in line for the Tortilla Factory tour in DCA.

I'm prayin hard that it is a wee bit less crowded tomorrow. This sucks. And please, I don't want to hear "at least your in Disneyland." Being at DL when it's this crowded just isn't much fun at all.

We're trying to keep our spirits up and hope for a great big beautiful tomorrow. . . :dance3:

I'm hoping too!!! Lots of schools are out... but I don't know any employers other than schools that are... so hopefully it will be a lot of teachers and sahm's tomorrow with their kids!

Honestly it was the first nice weekend maybe in all of 08, so it brought out every local, I'm sure. We always go at this time because it's my birthday as well as my dd's birthday, and never saw it like this before.

Close, but Soarin fastpasses went offline at around 12PM... :) I was there when i accidently send someone there only to be told that they are already out... :)

We were there Fri.2/8 through today 2/10. Friday was great, no lines but we left at 5:00 so after that I'm not sure. They didn't even have the fast passes for some of the rides. Saturday was busier but we got there early and did a lot of the Fantasyland rides. You should be fine on Thursday and try to get there early Friday it will still be fun.... Good Luck!!!!

Ah, music to my ears. :) Yep, I am hoping Thursday will be less crowded because it's my birthday and I hope to do a lot of things. Expecially with the busy scedual we already have. Friday will be an "all park day" for us. We are going to try to get there early.

Thanks so much.

We drove in from (guess which state) and arrived around 2PM. It was single file down mainstream. Pirates was 30 minutes. A fastpass gotten at 4PM was for 7:45PM.

Sorry that you feel it's so crowded. I don't know what it was like, but 30 minutes wait for a ride really is not that long. I usually go at Christmas when the wait times have been more than 60 minutes, the line for Pirates looped around several times and then went up to past the Golden Horseshoe, :headache: and the Indy FPs collected at 1:00PM had a return time of 10:45PM :scared1: -- that sounds like it's a lot more crowded then what you experienced. However, with that said, if you feel badly because you feel it was too crowded, then that's your perception and you have every right to feel that way. :flower3:

It WAS crowded today! So crowded I even took a picture of the crowds in NOS from Tom Sawyer Island. We'll be there tomorrow too.

We did get on a lot of rides today even though we left at 3- got Ridemax yesterday, and DANG it worked! It even predicted what time our Fastpass for Indy would be available... it was correct to 5 minutes. Ridemax predicted our wait at Pirates to be 35 minutes at 1:15 and it was 30 minutes. I'm sold on it now!

YIPPEE glad it worked!!!!! Can't wait to usei t...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ...btw

People kept mentioning kids out of school...do you mean just for the weekend? Or are they out for some break or something?

Did you have any small children in your party? And did you stick directly to the plan? And did you feel like you had to move move move to get where the itinerary told you, or did you move at a touristy pace?

I'm debating whether Ridemax will be worth it for our trip or not, lol.

I'm a ridemax fan.

I've used it with a 3 year-old before and it was fine. You do have to move move move a bit, but I find that preferable to wait wait wait. You might want to send a "runner" for the fastpasses, someone who has all the tickets and can grab the fastpasses RideMax tells you to before meeting back up with the rest of the group. At least that worked for me when there were multiple adults in my group.

Today is Lincoln's Birthday so some kids have today off. My school district does not, but they have all next week off.

Whenever a weeknight closes at 10 instead of 8 (like today) it indicates that DL is expecting bigger crowds.

30 minute que for Pooh -- FOR POOH!!

NO WAY!

Really? That's incredible! We've only been in the summer, and we always go on that ride a lot, especially while the other parent is taking the bigger kids on Splash Mountain. I have never seen more than a 5 minute wait on that ride.

 Oh nooooo!! We are going the 23rd-28th! Hope the crowds are better then!!

I wouldn't worry so much about next weekend and the week after. I think you picked a much better time than I did! The kids should be back in school by the time you go. I can't believe I thought it wouldn't be crowded in February! Such poor planning! I won't make that same mistake!!!

off topic...but on the subject of winnie the pooh...
the winnie the pooh ride at WDW actually has a fastpass (although we didn't see the machines on while we were there.) crazy.

 :scared1: :faint: Now you know that's bad! My goodness, we've never had to wait for POOH!

I hear you there, that's how we felt in Oct. We weren't just happy to be there, it was too crowded to enjoy ourselves at all. I simply don't like an overcrowded DL! Hope it gets better for you!

Ya, you wouldn't catch me there at that time even if they paid me to come! LOL I don't find it fun if all I can do is a few rides a day, and it's wall to wall people everywhere.

You guys are scaring me. I have been on Veterans day weekend when the park was filled to capacity and they had signs saying Disneyland was full but it didn't sound as bad as what you are saying. I have also been during Christmas and in the summer but WOW. We leave on Saturday but won't actually arrive in Disneyland till Tues. We will spend the first few days in San Diego. I sure hope it isn't bad. My kids have all next week off but it is weird because even here in Sacramento some school districts get the week off and some don't. Like the San Juan District gets it off but the Folsom and Sac City just get 3 days weekends this week and next. So it just depends.

I am preparing for it to be crowded and we are used to touring when it is crowded but even at Christmas and summer I have never seen 30 min waits for pooh. Now THAT is scary!

We were there on Sunday too. Got in for MM and did all the things we wanted to do and headed back to DL hotel to pack and then head back to the park. Got back around 11:15 and went straight to CA, crowds were even unbearable there. You know it's a bad day when there's a 45 min wait for Monster's and Heimlich's Choo Choo and you have to stand in line to EXIT the park. We planned on staying until around 3 or so but after going back over to DL we decided it just wasn't worth it and left.

I think we must have the worst timing in the world. It seems that every time we go it's "more crowded than usual." Oh well, maybe one of these times we'll hit it right. I guess when you go expecting there not to be a crowd, it's just disappointing when there is one. My inlaws went two weekends ago and called us from pirates saying they had a whole boat to themselves. I guess that's what we were expecting. :sad2:

Wow, I thought about going Sunday (yesterday) but decided to go today instead, since DD8 was off from school but not all schools in the DL area are. We arrived just after 9 (DL park opening) and there was a line to get in (about 10 min). We rode on Indy first since about 1-1/2 weeks ago we arrived first thing and rode Indy and got a Dream Fast Pass. No Dream Pass today, but we did get hats! :goodvibes The line for Indy was about 20 min. Then we headed over to Big Thunder and grabbed a FP for 10:45-11:45. This was about 10 ish. The standby line was 20 min. We decided it was time to get a snack, and checked on the bakery on Main St. It had a long line so we headed over to DCA (opened at 10 a.m.) and got some pastries at Bakersfield Bakery. The was no line there. :goodvibes The cinammon twist was very good!:goodvibes

We rode Screamin' (5 min. wait) and then headed over to Orange Stinger. My DSis stopped to grab a smoke and DD8 and I saw Dream Makers giving out something in front of Pizza Oom Mow Mow and ran over there. We got tickets to stay 1 hour after park closing. I called DSis on phone and told her to head over to get hers (you must be present to win). Then Dsis rode Maliboomer which took about 15 min. (they were only running one tower). DD and I rode Stinger with about 10 min. wait. Then we rode MM (5-10 min. wait) together and then DD rode it in the single rider line and only waited about 5 min. Then we decided it was time to eat lunch but rode CS one more time (again 5-10 min. wait) and then headed out to DD to eat at Ralph Brennans Jazz Kitchen. This was about 1 p.m.

We headed back into DL just before 2 and it was definitely more crowded. The wait board, though showed most times weren't too bad. Except for the biggies-Nemo 60 min., Space 45, BTMR 30 min. We head over to BTMR and used our FP. Took about 10-15 min. Then we decided to head home. DL was getting more crowded, but then it is (was) a holiday. Still, the lines weren't so bad, and the lines at DCA were wonderful!

Next Monday all schools will be off and even if we could go on Saturday or Sunday, I wouldn't-it'll be crowded. (We are blocked out on those days with Deluxe AP)

how in the heck do people get stuff from dream makers all the time? we've never been given anything at disneyland or on our trip to wdw. i've never even seen these so-called "dream makers." what do they ever look like?

we like to call them blue elves... ;)

but they wear blue shirt and pants and they dream when they have a white vest on.
