At my Target they are found on aisle C-15

Nice try, but that's not a good indicator, as many Targets are not configured alike (depending on when the store was built, or whether or not it's in a multi-floor building, such as a former mall department store).

The aisles themselves, on the other hand, should be exactly alike at all stores.

OK, here's my rant. We have been casually looking for a hamster for my son. Been calling my Walmart since beginning of Oct. to no avail. Finally, I call Sat.. Guy (aaron) tells me that they had 36, but he didn't know what time they would be put out. I question some more and he says he doesn't know if they will be put out at 10pm on Sat. night or early Sun. morning. So, I call again at 11pm to see if they had been put out. Different associate tells me "we have none, even the warehouses are empty". So, I thought they probably put them out at 10pm like aaron had said. My husband gets off work at 11:30 and stops by, just cause. He arrives at 12:07, the guy working there says, "Oh, we only had 26 and 5 ladies just cleared us out, they are probably at the checkout lines right now."Are you kidding me, if you divide that out that means that each lady got 5!!!!!!! What happened to limits? So, my son will not get what he asked for because the store wouldn't limit or commit to a time to put out. Had we known that they were going to be put out at midnight, you can bet we would've been there. And what happened to the other 10 hamsters (36-26=10 unaccounted for hamsters) This is crazy, I'm ready to give up, but my super competitive dh now claims "I will get one of those hamsters."

They have set limits at both Target and Walmart in our area to 2 per person.
I know it's frustrating. I was able to get the last two on the shelves for my neighbors kids. My family found the two for our kids. We have not had any trouble with accesories etc... they are fully stocked.

I've been able to find everything we need but I also have the freedom to stalk the stores each morning and get up and hustle when they are in stock.

I can't imagine trying to find them if you can't go during the morning hours or when Walmart stocks their toys, makes the hunt much more challenging.

The only places I've noticed firm limits of 1 are TRU and one Target. The other Targets say they 'may' impose limits (that's what the actual signs say) of 2 or 4. I think that is to give management leeway on stopping resellers that are clearing the shelves while allowing regular parents to get enough for their kids.

I'm just happy that if I wanted to, we could be completely done. I've gotten 2 of everything except the starter set w/ Patches. We only have one of those and I'm grateful to have that!

Target stocks overnight so you need to check stock before 8am and be there at 8am if they have what you are looking for. That's your best bet at getting whatever you need.

My Target stocks at night, so you have to be there when they open. My DH is in charge of stalking the Target near his work until we get all the pieces we need, now that I have this tidbit of info!

i have been on a crazy zhu zhu hunt. but due to my job i was limited to searching only 4 mornings a week. i actually went on this saturday morning even though i had to get my kids ready to be a flower girl and ring bearer. and then went sunday at 7 am after getting home at 2:30 am after said wedding. i had mentioned my hunt to my aunt and uncle in virginia. as i was leaving walmart disheartened again. they called they got 2 on their first attempt. thank goodness for relatives in other states lol

I got an email from TRU on Saturday that said they would have 50 and would sell one per household. I called to make sure they had them in stock and they did. My sister and I got there Sunday 1 hour before they opened and there was nobody there. When they opened there was about 10 of us. I had my BIL come and buy one for me. So I was able to get 2. They had 4 colors. The manager said that they had 120 in stock. I did watch one lady go in three times and buy one each time. What I don't understand is how TRU received so many and Target and Walmart only get a few at a time. It was kind of funny some of the people that came to get them that morning knew each other from seeing each other at Target and so on. After reading these posts we really got lucky. TRU was only advertising these per email. Good Luck to everyone.

Well tonight I stopped into Target on my way home from dance with DD10. I found one of the cars/garage things not where it should have been on the shelf. I tucked it under my things so DD didn't see it. At the register the guy asked me where I got it. I told him, he said it must have been hidden by someone. Now that I have it I think I may return it, it looks too young for my DD7, though I will probably hold off to be sure she doesn't ask for it in the mean time. I kind of think the pet we got may go back too, but again, we'll see. Does anyone's kids actually have them, what would yo usaay the age is on them. DD is almost 8 (right after Christmas) and being the yougest of 3 girls is pretty mature for her age. I think the only reason I am relaly even considering this is because of the fur allergy in our house. They want a pet so bad, but we can't. Last year Santa brought them Biisquit the dog and tehy loved the life out of him for about a month, now he rarely even gets turned on. Are they at all realistic? Thoughts??? No one I know has actually seen them.

Woo-hoo!! I got 3!!

I received the e-mail from TRU on Saturday. Sat night, after the kids went to bed, I called our TRU to see if they were participating. The sales guy didn't know what I was talking about & had to ask his manager. He told me that the manager said yes that they had them, but they were "locked up" & would not be unlocked until the next morning at opening & that it was 1 per household. I laughed & said jokingly, "But I need at least 2!" He suggested that I bring someone w/ me. I asked him how early we needed to be there, & he said probably about 15 minutes early.

So, my mom & I got there 30 minutes early. There were 2 people in front of us. Then another lady & her husband got in line behind us. By opening, there were only about 7 people in line. The TRU manager came out & gave us claim tickets. Since there were not even close to 50 people in line, she gave me & 3 other women 2 claim tickets - the hamsters just had to be rung up separately.

I bought 2 & my mom bought 1 - which means even the baby will get one! I was going to be satisfied if I got hamsters for our older 2, but I really wanted the baby to have 1 too so he could celebrate his 1st Christmas w/ the "hot toy" as well!

I then convinced mom to buy some for my nieces & nephew. So, since there were still no more additional customers, the lady gave me another claim ticket & gave my mom 2 claim tickets - so, now, my nieces & my nephew will get a hamster too! Another lady who needed 4 for her daughters was able to get 4 as well. 1 grandmother bought 3, & another grandmother bought 2 plus some accessories. 1 lady who came in after every one else I think ended up w/ 3 as well.

DD asked for the gray one, DS asked for the brown one, & I got our baby the white one.

I feel like we really lucked out! Plus, it was super-fun. Everyone was in a jolly mood, & no one was pushing or shoving - we were all chatting & laughing.

1 of the people who was waiting w/ us had been to Wal-Mart. The employee there told her that they had 4 (4!) & that she didn't know when they were putting them out. The TRU manager said that they ended up w/ 56.

So, yeah for TRU!!!!

I'm guessing WM has so few because they are splitting those few pets through all the WM stores nationwide- thousands of stores - way more stores than TRU therefore there's only a few to fo around

They are in the girl toy section. In mine, they are near the FurReal Friends and the pretend kitchens.

At my store they're on the 'racetrack', a special display in the center of the main aisles between the action figure side and the barbies/LPS/Princess side. They used to be next to the FurReal Friends, but I guess they needed more space.

I am not sure how I received the email from TRU. I do belong to their rewards club which is free to sign up for. I am not sure if there is somewhere to sign up on their website or not.
