Went looking today-Our Target said that Target stores aren't even carrying them at this time but maybe if they get in demand they will. Went to Walmart and got Funhouse (they had several) bed, carrier, and surfboard. Toys R Us has nothing and said won't be getting another shipment for over 2 weeks I have to check Meijer tomorrow and another Walmart

All walmart* stores get shipments every single day. At any point the toy dept mgr/asst mgr/store mgr can go look in the computer to see EXACTLY what is coming on that truck for the day. If you NEED to know, ask & they will tell you.

They are definitely hot here, but the Liv dolls are almost as much in demand. They are soooo cool!

I found JUST the hamsters, in all 4 colors, at the Manchester Walmart today!!! So now I don't have to dread when those commercials come on!

Someone had mentioned that they saw these at Crackerbarrel restaurants...I checked here yesterday. They had only one hamster and it was in a rolling wheel - it was the demo...and it wouldn't turn off..(it was broken). They did not have the box, so I couldn't see if it was the one we're looking for or not. They said they would get more in next Wednesday...I'm not sure if it's the same thing or not...the girl gave me the impression that this one came with the wheel....do you know if it's something different all together?? She gave me the sku number (302172) whatever that is...and wrote down - Hamster On the Wheel. I sure don't want to get the wrong thing...Thanks, Barb

No, that is not the same toy as the zhu zhu pet hamsters.

Luckily DD already mentioned she wanted these for Christmas -- went to our local Walmart and got her 3 (she told me she didn't like the lt brown/white), the house & a few of the accessories. Whew

I found patches w/ the blue jewel with his pink house at Meijer. The box was opened, but all parts appeared to be there and it was working when I brought it home. No luck anywhere else.

When he came home I went out to his car and he showed me and we decided to keep them in the trunk until my DD was asleep so I could smuggle them inside w/o her seeing. That night when we brought them in I noticed the boxes appeared to be opened. Turns out the only thing keeping them closed were clear, round stickers and from being in the warm car they came unfastened. Maybe that is what happened to the box you bought.

Maybe... But the 'included' batteries were missing. I think it was a return.
But you are correct the little plastic stickers are pretty flimsy.

I've bought a few things as i've found them at Walmart over the past week. So far 2 hamsters (Chunk and Num Nums), the Adventure ball, carrier and blanket accessory and bed and blanket accessory. My daughter hasn't mentioned wanting them yet, but it's right up her alley, so I figured I might as well get them while I can!

My DSs have seen them and have already said "mommy, we want Zhu-zhu pets"

Then again my 5yo DS REALLY wants a REAL guinea Pig.....so I figure I'm gettin away easy with these!

Walmart seems to be the only place by us that has them, but it's hit or miss if they are in stock!

Thanks! That's where I was looking but didn't see any spots for them. I'll have to check the other near us tomorrow when I go that direction. I did pick up a few other wish list items today so hopefully I can get done early and stay out of the stores. I'm trying to stick to a strict budget this year.

We have found them in all different spots

We have found them near the Barbies near the stuffed animals near the other electronic talking animals

When my husband was looking for them and couldnt find them I told him to look for an empty spot on the shelves or hooks and he found the empty spots with the tags and then there were a couple extra accs below.

My 4 year old son saw the video on the ToyRUs website and that they looked funny. So Santa will bring him some too.

I keep looking at our Walmart, but have not seen them yet. DH is tired of making trips through the toy department. Maybe I will have to expand my search to a couple of different Walmarts.

I have been checking out my Wal Mart also. I bought the ball today as it was there, but still no hamster. I asked the cashier about the return policy in case I miss the hamster and she laughed as she told me 30 days. Here's hoping for a hamster sometime within the next 30 days for a Christmas gift. The great hamster hunt of 2009! (10 years ago it was the Furby!) Still have that battery eating sucker!
