I have been checking out my Wal Mart also. I bought the ball today as it was there, but still no hamster. I asked the cashier about the return policy in case I miss the hamster and she laughed as she told me 30 days. Here's hoping for a hamster sometime within the next 30 days for a Christmas gift. The great hamster hunt of 2009! (10 years ago it was the Furby!) Still have that battery eating sucker!

My Walmart had a bunch of hamsters but nothing else. They have been getting regular shipments in though because I have checked 3 or 4 times over the last few weeks, & they've always had different items. I've gotten just about every piece & all 4 hamsters.

When I was little I went with my Mom on a Pound Puppy mission. People were running through the store, but because I was little I could snake through the crowd. I got back to the toy department before everyone else. I grabbed the puppy I wanted and then shouted, "Mom, they are over here." Bad idea! I literally got trampled! I had a bruise for days. I held tight to my puppy though! Still have him too!

Thanks for the encouragement. I did ask and the toy lady worker laughed at me! She said they are a hot item and her invoices don't tell her when they will be in. She says they say "50 boxes of toys", but not specifically hard to find hamsters. I will keep checking. Not too worried, I either find one or I don't. Good luck to everyone looking.

I am playing catch up here.
I saw the prices online at Walmart and thought, not bad, I can get a couple of things. THEN I did a search on Amazon. OMG the prices they have listed. 24 for a hamster that is 8 at walmart!!!
I guess you can count me in on the search for the little things. And I needed a mission for Christmas. right. LOL.

Oh my gosh, I didn't realize that these were a hot toy this year. I saw the commercial a week or so ago and thought it would be a fun thing for my boys... They want a real hamster and that is not happening, yet. And my youngest is CRAZY about cute stuffed toys right now so he would adore this.

I scanned through the thread, but didn't read everything. What is the status of Target carrying these? It seems they are only in stores at Walmart and ToysRUs right now, correct? I don't want to order online if I don't have to.

I just called my TRU at 10 when it opened and apparently they had some this am and they are already SOLD OUT. there was a line!
I am officialy obsessed. I need to find some by Christmas. (at normal prices, not the crazy ones I see on the internet).

Our Walmart gets bits and pieces all week long. Today I lucked into the car, wheel and another funhouse. Last week my friend was there Friday night and they didn't have anything. I went the next morning and got 6 pets. It is hit or miss here. I keep picking up stuff because we are doing a ZhuZhu pet basket for my dd's school fundraiser as well as gifts for my dd's.

I'm in NC and have been looking, looking, looking for these zhu zhu pets that dd's want. Obviously I have continued to strike out. So, I thought I would think outside the box and call some states where I have relatives.
FYI for those in sterling heights MI, the walmart has "tons" according to the worker who is currently unloading the pallets. Of course as luck would have it, when I called my bro to go pick some up for me, he told me he couldn't go today as he has tix for the Michigan football game

I called my Walmart yesterday to see if they had any of these in stock. Before I could even finish my sentence the employee shouted "No!" I went today and they don't even have a place marked for them yet. I have a feeling they are keeping them hidden in the stockroom!

I have called 15 WalMarts every other day for the past two weeks trying to get my hands on something!!!! Friday I drove 25 miles to a store who said they 'might' have a delivery only to find out they had NOTHING!! It's the only thing my DD7 has continued to ask for and I can't find it. I know that suddenly the stores are going to be flooded with them and I still won't be able to get them. I will be calling my Walmarts tomorrow and hopefully I will be able to get something. I refuse to pay the outlandish prices on Amazon because I know better and I'm sorry but eBay isn't any better.

If someone local to MA/RI would like to end my torture please tell me where are they!!!

I just want to jump in here and wish all of you good luck in your search for these toys. Thank goodness my kids are older!

I do need to remind everyone that the DIS has a policy that we cannot make any posts that involve money changing hands between DISers. That also includes offering to pay someone to pick up an item for you or offering to purchase and ship an item to someone. It's okay to post where you've found one of these much-sought-after toys, but that's where it has to end.
