OMG... this is so not right (The Office related)!!!

There's going to be an Office spinoff next year, premiering after the Super Bowl. Nobody knows anything about who it may feature, only that it won't be Dwight.

I thought that it was just a rumor that exploded due to someone joking around once in an interview. Has it been confirmed?

I saw it in an article that sounded pretty definitive in the Scranton Times about a month ago. I, of course, can't find the link because the search engine is horrible on that paper's website.

I also read about the spinoff in Entertainment Weekly. I am pretty sure it is a go.
How about Mose? Isn't he creepy? Dwight on the raccoon- It isn't rabid!

I just can't imagine a spin off, because the cast is so great together. The supporting characters only have tiny roles, but even so, they add so much color to the show.

I'm with you on that one. I can't imagine The Office being The Office without Pam and Jim. There are a few charcters that could leave (like Toby) and you wouldn't feel it to bad. If the main ones go missing though, you are going to feel it and it might lose something.

I could almost guarantee that any spinoff would not include Michael. Steve Carrel is doing so well without the Office. I'm actually afraid that his time there has to be coming to an end.

NBC announced their new season several weeks ago and it included The Office spin-off as a mid-season show set for Thursday at 9:30.

One thing I've wondered about the spinoff is whether it will actually feature any of the characters from this show. It could be about another branch of Dunder-Mifflin in another state, or maybe another company in the Dunder-Mifflin Scranton office building. Rumors are swirling that Andy may be the star, though.
Here's a handy guide to what has been announced about it so far:

I don't think there are plans to move any of the current cast to the new show. They still haven't cast it, but I think they are looking for a woman lead in the "Michael" role.

There is a huge Internet push for Lauren Graham (how great would she be!!!) but I have also heard Amanda Peet.

Am I the only one that thinks that the way that Andy and Angela will break up is when she is pregnant with Dwights baby. Wouldnt that be funny?

I was thinking the same thing!!! Kinsey is pregnant IRL, so maybe they are setting it up to write it into the story. I am not sure about the timing with shooting for next season though!!!

she just had her baby in may. i thought she looked pregnant during the last show (and they never showed her body), so i looked it up. it was may 3rd and the baby's name is isabel ruby.

Bumping this thread. It took me awhile to find it but I knew it was out there!

I'm way behind the times cause I just got into this show from re-runs on TBS. The show is is fantastic and totally cracks me up. I believe the new season starts tomorrow night. :happytv:

Can someone confirm or deny if it starts tomorrow night? I can't miss it!

Yes, an hour episode!!!:woohoo: We are huge fans of The Office; haven't missed a show and have Season 1-4 DVDs. Can't wait for tomorrow night!!

We even took a road trip to Scranton this past spring.:)

Can't wait for the new season!!

At a college fair I asked the rep. of University of Scranton if they had any internships at Dunder Mifflin.
My poor Best Friend was laughing so hard she left.

The woman had no clue what I was talking about.

It was a Michael Scott moment.

That person has to live under a rock to not know what Dunder Mifflin is. The local news programs, especially NBC cover The Office all the time. For heavens sake, The Office Convention kicked off at da U (University of Scranton) with Al Roker earlier this year.
