Since I grew up in Scranton, I like when I find things that are wrong in The Office.
Last week, I was watching the episode on CRIME Aid. Jim wins a night of drinking with the warehouse guys for $5. While at the bar, he meets Roy and Roy puts it into his head that Pam could fall for one of her fellow students in NYC. Jim decides to go to see her and en route, he decides he's not that guy who gets jealous of Pam's friendships.
So, what was wrong, you ask? When Jim is driving, everything is flat. There are no mountains in the background, especially on secondary roads like he was driving.
Scranton is in a valley. No matter which way I look from my house, which is near Scranton, I can see mountains in the distance. The only time I can't see them is when there is fog or a horrible snow storm.
Just thought I'd share this. The Office tries hard to get things right. The only thing I can guess is that Jim was supposedly already on Rt 46 in NJ, close to the Lincoln Tunnel. To get to NYC from here, you have to pass through the Pocono Mountains and you don't get to flat land until NJ.
I figured that Jim wouldn't have driven so far before he decided that he wasn't "that guy."
Whew. I feel good to have gotten that off my chest.
