OMG! Received a beneficiary letter!

WOW! What news. My MIL passed away 2 weeks ago, and she had two policies. DH and his siblings are each going to receive 21K. It is a great amount, but at the same time knowing that she had to pass to receive it makes it less exciting. My MIL was young only 57yrs old, and her death was TOTALLY unexpected.

Here's sending pixie dust and good vibes your way!:goodvibes pixiedust:

:cheer2:

ok, somethings wrongwith me. ... IN caps: WOW what news, my MIL passed away!" only 2 weeks ago! the :at the same time, knowing she had to pass, etc"seemed like a parenthetical aside.
please try to get over your glee for at least a month

In defense of Ms Grumpy.... I think she meant -Wow what news!- intended for the OP! New paragraph...."My MIL passed away." I don't think she is gleeful over the passing.

That's how I took it also. Two separate thoughts.

My thoughts as well--since she even said her loss makes it less exciting.

It's the cheerleader at the bottom that makes me think there's not a whole lotta mourning going on here. .

TO THE OP: This is so exciting! I cannot wait to hear the end result!!:thumbsup2 GOOD LUCK!!!! :shamrock:

(Man . . . I really need to be nicer to my aunts. ;) ) :lmao:

ditto - that's how I took it also

I think the cheerleader is cheering for the OP, not the death of her MIL.

ditto again - i took the pixie dust and cheerleader to mean she was directing both to the OP

In defense of MissGrumpy I think it is more than obvious she was just "typing out loud" and did not mean that to come across like it did. Kind of like the "that didn't come out right" that folks do when they are talking to you face to face. The net is a great place, but our typed words don't allow for the body language and these little emoticons we plug in often add to the confusion.

mea culpa!however, I didn't think she meant it was great news that her MIL died, butthat she left them the money. but it sounded a mite crass. I suppose spacing would have helped:
"we are so sad, my MIL passed away.
but, on a happier note, she left us..."

yes sometimes it is hard to get across meaning on the net

OP,

When is your mail delivered everyday? I'm on the edge of my seat
for an update! :flower3:

Ditto. And I have to wonder why you even bothered to comment on this post? But I'm going to just assume you had a bad day, and give you the benefit of the doubt you were unable to offer another.

My sympathies to Ms. Grumpy on your and your husband's loss.
