OMG! Received a beneficiary letter!

OP this is great! I too am at the edge of my seat.

When SIL passed away a couple years ago and DH was only survivor, Allstate gave us the total disbursement on the phone as soon as they received the claim form.

Good luck to you. :goodvibes

You guys are all crazy! How fun this is to share with all of you! But like I said, even if it's 10 bucks, it was the thought that counted...;) Remember the 2nd gentleman who said we would get a confirmation letter was mistaken, (so the 3rd lady said), so we have to wait for the actual 'check'. 7-10 days... AND that's if all the paperwork is 'ok'. You guys think you're having a tough time waiting, you should be with us! :rotfl:

I think that is a wonderful way to look at it. Even if it is a few hundred dollars-it is money you weren't planning on. And if it is more-:cool1:

Oh, I'm so curious about this outcome. I hope it's legit and you get enough for something special.

A few years after my mother died, I had a similar situation where I was no longer at the address they had on file. We had a very dear and wonderful family friend handle all of that, so they already had the forms and stuff so all I had to provide was my address.

You should add a countdown ticker...like the ones the diser's use for their next trip....that will count down the 10 days.

:surfweb: Thanks for sharing!

mea culpa!however, I didn't think she meant it was great news that her MIL died, butthat she left them the money. but it sounded a mite crass. I suppose spacing would have helped:
"we are so sad, my MIL passed away.
but, on a happier note, she left us..."

yes sometimes it is hard to get across meaning on the net

Hi Smidgy,
I think you've just been hanging out with Nebo too long.
Anybody who's read one of his trip reports knows that you guys have a priceless sense of humor - that's what keeps us reading and lauging out loud at your adventures in the wee hours of the morning - though I'm sure the kids think we're doing something much different than just reading out here. :lmao:
Come on , tell us the truth now, Nebo really did it and just blamed it on you to get even for a midnight Howdy scare, right?

Ms.Grumpy,
My condolences on your loss. I knew what you meant of course.

OP,
We're been reading and waiting right along with you. Hope mail arrives soon. With my type A personality and intense curiousity, I'd probably be stalking our mail lady thru the neighborhood until she got to our box each day if it were us!
It's a lovely gesture even if it's only enough for dinner at McDonalds but I'm hoping your check is enough to do something nice for your family that you'll all remember for years to come.

I had no idea that what I typed came across the wrong way. Am I happy that my MIL passed, of course not, like I stated her death was TOTALLY unexpected. As for the cheerleader on the bottom, that is how I sign all my posts, sort of like my DIS signature, all my post are typed in purple and in Comic Sans font.

OP, anything new to share with us?

:cheer2:

I think we all need to guess the total payout. Closest to the mark gets half.;) I am guessing $53,972

one dollar! :lmao:
(of course, I really hope it's more than that though! Just got into the price is right mode)

My guess: one policy for $7000 and another for $5000. Plus interest--not sure how to calculate that, though? Anyway, enough for a new roof for the OP and a little left over for a trip!
